Police officers in Otwock broke up a peaceful prayer assembly organized by the Pro-Life Law Foundation and forcibly took banners held by the Foundation's activists. After the full incident, they encouraged city residents to study on volunteers. In the opinion of the Foundation, uniform actions match the Stalinist times erstwhile the saying arose: “Give me a man, and a paragraph will be on him.”
"Otwock, a city with a good climate" – specified an advertising slogan Otwock's authorities advance the city in the media and public space. However, the Pro-Life Law Foundation has found that this "good climate" does not apply to those who stand up for conceived children. For any time now, local government has persecuted the activists of the Foundation, who preach the fact about abortion on the streets of the city and pray to halt it.
A fewer days ago, police one more time appeared at a public rosary prayer combined with an information action which the Foundation organised close Otwock City Hall. It started with officers telling volunteers that they allegedly blocked the anticipation of walking on the sidewalk. At the place where the space on the sidewalk took place, there was plenty of space, while close there were respective badly parked cars. The cops weren't interested. According to the reflection of the Foundation's volunteers, it was most likely the officials who tried to make the pavement in front of their building densely parked to prevent the action from starting.
When the officers saw that the volunteers would not be manipulated, they went into attack. In violation of the law, without any judgement of the court or the prosecution's decision, they forcibly took banners presenting the fact about abortion to activists of the Foundation. Maciej, a volunteer of the Foundation, reported this way:
– At the end of the day, each associate had an illegal card. The standard component of force and intimidation from officers. They besides wrote down old ladies who came to pray with us. erstwhile 1 of the volunteers refused to be identified, police yet violated her individual immunity after lengthy discussions to bring her to the police car. The woman decided to step down and give us the data. The policemen left our assembly and we could pray in peace and call upon the name of the Immaculate –.
As it later turned out, however, this was not the end of persecution. After the full incident, the Otwok police published in the media an announcement in which they encouraged the city's residents to study on volunteers in order to get the legal basis for bringing the Foundation activists to court. According to a police message:
"Otwock Police Department conducts infringement proceedings in connection with the assembly held on 09.09.2024 at 5 p.m. at the City Office in Otwock. The organizer of the convention presented content that could origin mischief in a public place [it is about our banners showing the fact about abortion]. Witnesses of events that have been affected by the pictures placed on the banners are asked to contact the Otwock region Police Headquarters...’.
Mariusz Dzierżawski, a associate of the board of directors of the Pro-Life Law Foundation commented: – In Stalinist times the saying arose: “Give me a man, and a paragraph shall be upon him.” That's how a reason was invented to convict anyone. The Minister of Justice and lawyer General Adam Bodnar spoke in a akin vein, who first intervened and then sought a legal basis for it. This is what we are dealing with in Otwock – in the course of the action no 1 felt offended by the presence of our volunteers, but if the announcement of police hangs long adequate and will be promoted in the media, there will be a “kind man” who will study on the basis of which the police will later apply to punish our activists – he emphasized.
“The situation in Otwock is very akin to fresh events from Oleśnica, where police forcefully pacified our action under the infirmary (the largest abortion centre in Poland) and the prosecution seized our banners claiming that possession of specified items was allegedly illegal. In parallel, there are further court sentences acquittaling aggressive attackers who commit attacks on our volunteers. The justice in Warsaw even stated that the physical assault on our activist was simply an expression of disapproval of our Foundation's actions. These are all elements of the persecution and repression directed at our volunteers, the intent of which is to force us to retreat from the public space and to cease operations. We cannot defy this terror, due to the fact that children in the wombs are at risk, which the abortion coalition Tusk wants to exterminate on a massive scale. In subsequent Polish hospitals the number of abortions increases rapidly, and yet all hospitals are to become abortion centres. For refusing to execution a child, there are severe penalties from the Ministry of wellness and the NFZ. Each infirmary is besides required to hire a doctor-murderer who will de facto execution the kid on request to a female who will study to the facility – added an activist.
According to the Foundation, stopping abortion is possible if we proceed to fight, proclaim the fact about infanticide and publically pray to halt this and convert all those active in kid murder. That's why volunteers from the Pro-Life Law Foundation organize actions in subsequent cities.
