142 associate States, including most European Union countries, voted for the resolution expanding Palestine's powers in the UN. 9 countries voted against and 25 abstained. The adopted resolution of the General Assembly does not grant Palestine UN membership, but importantly increases its powers and privileges in its forum. Palestine has been granted powers close to those of the UN associate States, inter alia. to address in debates not only the issues of Palestine and the mediate East, but besides another matters, to make statements on behalf of groups of states, to make and submit proposals and amendments. However, Palestine will not have the right to take part in the United Nations General Assembly voting, nor will it have the right to nominate United Nations bodies.

The resolution besides expressed support for Palestine's aspirations to membership of the United Nations, stating that it meets the criteria set out in the United Nations Charter. The UN General Assembly besides called on the safety Council to reconsider the inclusion of Palestine in the UN associate States. The full UN membership of Palestine requires the approval of the safety Council, which rejected the resolution recommending full membership of Palestine on 18 April 2024. 4. Complete violation of the United Nations Charter to accomplish political benefits.

This decision is incorrect and detrimental to security, stableness and Poland - Israeli ambassador Ja’akov Plaine.

Poland supporting Palestinian UN membership after 7.10 massacre is: 1. A dangerous precedent of rewarding the aggressor. 2. Continuing the 1988 Soviet-led anti-West decision of recognizing "Palestinian state". 3. Rewarding Iran & Hamas against US & Israel position. 4. Complete...
