Biden's administration sold sovereignty to the United States, concluding with the WHO a global pandemic treaty that according to the wellness agency will aid the planet prepare for another pandemic and possible outbreak of "X disease".
Critics argue that the agreement will consequence in suppression of freedom of speech and the ceding of American sovereignty to a global body.
For months now, the WHO has been alerting that the May deadline for the treaty text is rapidly approaching, and the agreement is needed to “improve the world’s collective readiness for future pandemics and reactions to them. ”
The wellness Agency wants to ratify the Treaty at the yearly General Assembly of the planet wellness Organisation in May 2024.
Last week, respective twelve erstwhile heads of state, including erstwhile UK Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, and erstwhile UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, wrote a joint letter calling for "acceleration of progress" in the ongoing negotiations, while WHO manager Tedros Ghebreyesus warned that an agreement is essential "when, not if" the X illness will attack.
X illness is simply a hypothetical virus that has not yet been created, but scientists say it can be 20 times more deadly than Covid-19.
Critics are questioning the request for an agreement that would require the United States to make public wellness data available to them and over 190 countries and to comply with WHO rules on preparing for and responding to the next pandemic.
Critics say the treaty will enable WHO to dictate global wellness policy.
Adversaries besides argue that the public wellness emergency is not clearly defined and can be extended to climate, reproduction or immigration crises.
Brad Westrup, president of the Subcommittee of the home of Representatives on Oversight and work for the Coronavirus pandemic, claims that the global agreement threatens American sovereignty and intellectual property rights.
"Biden's administration must guarantee that the final task does not violate American sovereignty or the rights of the American people," said Westrup Fox News Digital. "Without submission to legislature for approval, any treaty on pandemic will be pathetically inappropriate".
