The Council of the Polish Language to the Bureau of the Polish Academy of Sciences announces that at its meetings on 7 November 2022, 3 February 2023 and 22 January 2024, it passed amendments to the rules of orthography (with effect from 1 January 2026), the list of which is given in Appendix 1.
The Council considered that the introduction of these amendments, which concern only conventional spelling rules, would benefit by simplification and harmonisation a description of the different groups of terms and connections, the elimination of exceptions, and the elimination of rules which are problematic for different reasons, e.g. requires the author to analyse the meaning of the text besides detailed. This will aid reduce the number of language errors and - Maybe. – it will let the author to focus on another than orthographic aspects of the correctness of the text. The Council points out that most of the changes introduced have been proposed many years ago, but for a variety of reasons they have not been able to give effect to them.
In order to give all persons and institutions, in peculiar publishers, authors of dictionaries and school programmes, time to prepare for the fresh situation, the Council decided that the amendments adopted would apply from 1 January 2026.
It should be recalled that the powers of the Council of Polish Language to find the principles of orthography and punctuation are confirmed in Article 13(1) of the Act of 7 October 1999 on Polish language (with late amendments) and there is no another institution or institution that has specified competence.

These are mostly sound-tracking expressions, hence their circumstantial word-making structure. Since both members are substantially equivalent, their writing with the connector is entirely justified. Separating the components by means of a comma or connecting by means of a "i" combination would be inappropriate.

Since January 1, 2026, any principles of Polish spelling have changed. The Council of the Polish Language announced it a year and a half ago to give language users time to get utilized to and adapt to changes.

The paper of the Council of the Polish Language (RJP) explicitly states that separate spelling of particles will be allowed, which can besides function as stand-alone terms (e.g. super-, extra-, eco-, wege-, turbo-) in combinations with insignificant words. The Parliament present adopted a draft amendment to the Act on National and cultural Minorities and Regional Language. This is another task by Monika Rosa, who was followed by president Andrzej Duda.

The bill was supported by Parliamentary Clubs: Left, Civic Coalition, Poland 2050 and PSL, and against voted PiSu and Confederacy Clubs.
This is an crucial step for Silesia, due to the fact that designation of language is designation of identity, culture and the right to cultivate Silesia. This bill is intended to open the way for real support: language teaching, cultural activities and solutions that will let Silesian to sound more frequently in public space.
Respect for regional identities is the foundation of democratic Poland. Now the task goes to the legislature and then to the president's desk. We will see who truly stands for the dignity of Silesia, Silesians, and Polish citizens.
Special thanks are sent to Minister Tomasz Szymanski of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, who yesterday in plenary expressed his support for Gōdka in a fantastic and bravado manner.

Recently, I have come back to a conviction that I erstwhile wrote on my fanpage: “Ma'am, due to the fact that I am better spelled in English.” 3 students, all Poles, without experience of surviving abroad, choose English erstwhile he comes to tell his own stories.
A fewer days ago, in class, it hit me again. We were doing a task where we had to give words that were close to phraseological relationships. I read "chosen fate."

This phenomenon is not just about words. Shows changes in the language and way young people think. We live in a planet full of abroad languages: online, games, series, memes. Children absorb them faster than their parent tongue. Poland sometimes becomes the language of school commands, exams and tasks - not the language of the first choice to tell its own story.
And here we get to the point: the Polish language exam is not a test of a certain level (B1 or B2), but it examines the full scope of cognition and skills provided for the eighth grade of primary school - it includes knowing texts, cognition of language means and functions and the ability to make your own speech.
The change I observe is fascinating and disturbing at the same time. It shows that Young people adapt to the multilingual worldbut besides that Polish requires us - teachers - to mindfulness, encouragement and reflection. It is not adequate to repeat words; we request to build context, curiosity, creativity and joy in utilizing our native language.
Our function is not to fight English, but to show that Polish can besides be natural and expressive. That you can besides tell stories, make paintings and play with words. It is worth reminding students - and themselves - that happiness can besides be in your own language.

Let me get any private attention today. This time not from the classroom, nor from the examination table, but from my son's "yard" – a freshman.
I sometimes perceive to his stories about what happens in lectures: about students' behaviors, about simple deficiency of respect for lecturers, about conversations, about telephone browsing, about ostentatious disregard or the belief that "I belong." And erstwhile it comes to the anticipation of anonymous assessment of lecturers – without responsibility, without dialogue, without reflection – it is hard to defy the impression that something is heading in the incorrect direction.
Because this is no longer a problem of 1 phase of education. It's a process that starts early and consistently goes through another levels: from primary school to secondary school to higher education. On each of them we teach – frequently completely unconsciously – that the planet is to adapt to the individual alternatively than the opposite.
