The ban on the usage of sound in the parish of Christ the King in Dzierżoniów.
The ban is based on a control order issued in June by the Head of the Wałbrzych DWIÓC delegation, which did not let the usage of sound in the built-up areas of the city. The parish priest, Fr Krzysztof A., must in July study in writing how he fulfilled the ban. Failure to comply with the prohibition threatens to consequence in detention or financial penalties. The decision can be appealed to the Provincial Administrative Court, via the Dlnośląskie Provincial Inspector of Environmental Protection - Ireneusz Wagnerowski, ORP.
– I have analysed respective specified cases in Poland and I think that this is another way to destruct Catholic religion and Catholics from public space. A tool in this case was the rules on sound control, specifically the decisions of local authorities to "shut" the bell, due to the fact that it exceeds the sound level standards set in the environmental regulations said Dr. Jolanta Hajdas.
After more than a fewer decades of utilizing audible sound and ringing bells, which became a local tradition, only now - in a time of raging anticlericalism - individual began to disturb the noise. – Among the inhabitants of the parish are people who are disturbed by the heartfelt prayer in the defence of life, hinders the ringing of bells and the sound of curates, disturbs believers who admit publically to Jesus Christ and the Church. We are not here to meet the expectations of others, but to awaken conscience and guarantee compliance with the Constitution of Poland (Art. 53. - Freedom of conscience and religion) - says Piotr M. - 1 of the initiators of the protest.
What a day! present is the hundredth day of our protest. But 1 more thing: - Antoni Ludwa called me this morning, telling me that our 100th gathering under the Millennium Cross will be attended by tv Republika. Problem is, it'll be around 3:30. You should have informed as many people as possible due to the fact that it's an different hr for our meetings. An additional difficulty was that at 7:00 p.m. many participants of the protest were going to the movie "Reagan", which ends after 9:00 p.m. So there'll be only those who don't go to the movie under the Cross at 9:00. But everything worked out like a petal; at 3:30 p.m. there were over 60 people, there were so many people in the cinema (for the present time) that more than half of the audience was busy, and besides in the evening under the Cross there was a large group that decently sang the Jasna Góra Appeal in the replacement of church curants - says Ireneusz W. - the initiator of the protest.
It is hard not to get the impression that the full substance is ideological and anti-religious. The parishioners invitation you to the regular Jasna Góra Appeal at 9am before the Millennium Cross. Meetings are besides a form of objecting to the ban on the usage of sound. Let's be together.
The study from the protest on 23 October was included in the National tv Republic programme. Interviews with participants were conducted by editor Janusz Życzkowski. Participants and organizers of the assembly welcomed the squad of tv Republic in Dzierżoniów. We are counting on further cooperation and that the nationwide publicisation of the protest will lead to a fast solution to the satisfaction of the parishioners and residents of the city.
