On 16 November 2024 in Warsaw the primary convention of Polish and Polish organizations and groups of freedom and independency was held, which, having no representation in the Sejm, decided by way of the primaries to elect a joint candidate for president of the Republic of Poland. It became Romuald Starosielec as a consequence of the electors' vote in 2 rounds of primaries.
In the primaries participated among others: Polish Repair Movement, Self-defense, Safe Poland, Trade Union of Farmers Self-defense, Free Elections.pl, Poland Patriotic, representatives of the erstwhile movement 1Poland, National Party, as well as representatives of many foundations and associations – PAFERE, Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski improvement Centre, planet legislature of Poles, Mama and Dad Foundation, Polish Political thought Forum, “We will not Give City” movement from Krakow, “Our Common Silesian House”, Association named after Maurycy Zamoyski, Association of Katyń Rally Memory and Identity, Association of Sustainable improvement – Geothermia in Poland named after the Queen of Jadwiga, National Committee for the Defence of Polish Natural Resources, Wacław Felczak Institute of Polish-Hungarian Cooperation, Koreus Association, Indignants, RKW, Association of Friends of Sciences, FaithBiznesie, Association of the Unfresh and Friends of the 27th Regiment of Ulans named after King Stefan Batory, Tow. Gymnastic Sokol in Warsaw, initiator of the Literary Prize named after Józef Mackiewicz, many representatives of Polonia (in Norway, Germany, France, Hungary, and the USA), including MIT graduates, Georgetown University, Western Michigan University, prominent scientists like Prof. Andrzej Targowski, co-founder of the PESEL system, as well as many people who in the past candied at various local government positions, in Australia and in the United States, as well as journalists from the Polish Chamber of economical Affairs. Seven candidates took part in the primary: Mr Andrzej Dembiński (representative of French Polonia), Mr Prof. Włodzimierz Korab-Karpowicz (representative of FreeElections.pl), Mr Jan Kubański (representative of PAFERE Foundation), Mrs Maria Leśniak-Wojciechowska (independent candidate), Mr Romuald Starosielec (representative of Polish Repair Movement), Mr Leszek Sykulski (representative of Poland's Safe Movement) and Mr Paweł Zieminski (representative of Polish Patriotic Movement).
The election was carried out by a 60-person Elector College, whose members reported to the aforementioned communities and organisations, and a large part of which were representatives of Polish people from around the world, including the USA, Australia, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Hungary.
The first circular of primaries did not bring a decision. 2 candidates joined the second round: Mr Jan Kubań and Mr Romuald Starosielec. In the end, the primaries won the leader of the Polish Repair Movement, Mr Romuald Starosielec. Congratulations!
Electors and representatives of the above-mentioned organizations and communities participating in the primaries, by acclamation, decided to proceed their cooperation not only during the next year's run for the president of the Republic of Poland, supporting their joint candidate, but besides later, declaring their willingness to work together in the work of unifying the Polish non-parliamentary opposition. They stressed that they would share their political experience and programme and expert experience in various areas of social, political and economical life, in the country and abroad.
Representatives of organisations focused around the joint Candidate, with a common goal today, which is free, sovereign and independent Poland, but various political programmes, expressed their willingness to combine their efforts to make a socio-political movement capable of effectively influencing the destiny of Poland, while declaring their willingness to participate together in future parliamentary elections.
