The second circular of presidential elections in Poland is defined by the German “Spiegel” as a fight for the future of Europe. The portal indicates that the result of the vote may decide on the stableness of Donald Tusk's governments and the direction of politics in Poland.

On Friday evening there will be a key debate before the second circular of the presidential election, in which Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki will face. According to the German weekly Spiegel, this could be a milestone in the campaign, affecting the final result of the election on 1 June.

Election rate: the future of Poland and Europe

The portal emphasizes that the triumph of Karol Nawrocki, close to the PiS environment, would be a failure for the ruling camp and could disrupt Donald Tusk's coalition. As president Nawrocki could block laws, obstructing the implementation of reforms of the current government.

"Spiegel" besides highlights the key function of young voters who voted for Sławomir Mentzen in the first round. Although the Confederate leader seems to support Nawrocki, it is not certain that his supporters will follow in his footsteps. This group can decide the result of the elections.

A nightmare for a liberal Europe

The German portal leaves no uncertainty – Nawrocki's triumph would be the success of the Polish right, but at the same time "a nightmare for liberal Europe". It points out that the script in which Nawrocki becomes president and Mentzen in the future as Prime Minister could radically change Poland's political scenery and its relations with the European Union.
