Borussia Dortmund Club (BVB) started "internal conduct", aimed at examining the player's behaviour after he expressed his support for Charlie Kirk and his family, on social media.
The German squad is punishing the footballer for his grief over Kirk's murder. According to German news services, BVB wants to “examine” the entry of its player Felix Nmecha on social media and possibly punish him in a disciplinary interview, for the behaviour “contrary to the club’s views”. However, the club does not intend to make any public statements and does not consider imposing any punishment on the player.
Nmecha met with a negative reaction from left-wing BVB fans on the net after expressing compassion for Charlie Kirk and his household after a violent assassination last week. The athlete expressed his shock after killing Kirk through an Instagram entry. “Rejoice in peace with God. This is specified a sad day” – wrote a 24-year-old assistant. The post was later edited and now reads as follows: "Let the Lord be with the Kirk household at this time, giving her a peculiar grace. Jesus is the actual way to peace and love."
In another post that had already been removed, Nmecha wrote that Kirk “he defended his beliefs and values peacefully. Celebrating the attack on father and husband is “very bad”. In this way, he criticized the hateful leftist environments that fell into ecstasy after the execution of a right-wing activist.
The footballer is known for his Christian devotion. He has frequently faced harsh and very vulgar criticism for publishing Christian and conservative content on social media. He was accused of publishing ‘homophobic’ and ‘anti-LGBT’ posts.
After a wave of criticism for the Kirk entries, Nmecha posted another entry in which he explained his motives: "I wanted to offer my condolences to the grieving household and show that hatred and force are never a solution.”
"It is absolutely right to have different political views and opinions. I besides disagree with the many things Charlie Kirk advocated. Remember, however, that a man was murdered in front of his wife and 2 young children. I believe that expressing compassion is human and should not be condemned.” – he wrote.
According to the German Bild, the Nmechy contract contains a punishment clause in case of publication on the net of content contrary to the values of the club. As you can see, the club seems to tolerate violence, of course directed exclusively at the right.
