Friedrich Merz in 1st circular did not get the required number of votes to become Chancellor of Germany. He is simply a candidate for a three-party CDU, CSU and SPD coalition.
The vote was secret and there was no organization discipline in it. Merz obtained 310 votes in it, and needed at least 316 seats in a 630-member parliament. Against his candidacy there were 307 MPs.
The Bundestag gathering was interrupted.
