During the Angel of the Lord in the Vatican, Pope Leon XIV referred to the aggression of the United States and Israel against Iran. The Holy Father appealed for peace and expressed concerns about extending the war to another countries of the close East.
– From Iran and the full mediate East, news continues to flow, which causes deep consternation. There are episodes of force and demolition as well as a widespread climate of hatred and fear, fear that the conflict will widen and that another countries of the region, including the way Lebanon, may again sink into instability – declared the pope at the gathering at the confederate prayer of the Angel of the Lord.
– We rise a humble prayer to the Lord to end the bang of bombs. Let the weapons be silent and a space of dialog open where the voices of the nations can be heard said Leon XIV on the ninth day of the war between the US and Israel and Iran.
– I entrust this request to Mary, Queen of Peace, to intercede for those suffering from war, and to accompany the hearts on paths of reconciliation and hope. – added the Pope.
