Netanjahu spends the following hyper-political statement at a government gathering in Dimona after the attack:
August 17, about 4 months ago, I sent the Australian Prime Minister Albanese a letter in which I warned him that the Australian government policy promoted and encouraged anti-Semitism in Australia.
I wrote, "Your appeal for the Palestinian state to pour oil into anti-Semitic fire. He rewards Hamas terrorists. It gives courage to those who endanger Australian Jews and fuel hatred of Jews who now traverse your streets." Anti-Semitism is cancer. It spreads as leaders stay silent; it withdraws as leaders act. I call upon you to replace weakness with action, yielding with determination.
Instead, Prime Minister, you have replaced weakness with weakness and yielding with another concession. Your government has done nothing to halt the spread of anti-Semitism in Australia. You didn't do anything to halt cancer cells increasing in your country. You've taken no action. You let the illness spread, and the consequence is the horrific attacks on the Jews we saw today.
We have seen the act of a brave man – it turns out that a Muslim brave man, and I pay tribute to him – who stopped 1 of these terrorists from killing innocent Jews. But it requires the actions of your government that you do not take. And you have to, due to the fact that past won't forgive hesitation and weakness. It will be a tribute to action and strength.
This is what Israel expects from each of your governments in the West and beyond. due to the fact that the illness is spreading and it's eating you too. But now we're worried about our people, about our safety, and we're not silent. We fight those who effort to vanquish us.
They're not just trying to vanquish us. They attack us due to the fact that they attack the West. In Syria yesterday, we saw 2 American soldiers and 1 American translator die. Killed due to the fact that they represent our common culture.
Consequently, Secretary of War Peter Hegseth said as follows. He said, let it be known that if you attack Americans anywhere in the world, you will spend the remainder of your short, restless life knowing that the United States will come after you, find you and mercilessly kill you.
