President Karol Nawrocki appeared in fresh York on 23 September before the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. He accused Russia of imperial policy, demanded Poland's place in the G20 and pointed out the effects of the demographic crisis and illegal migration. Security, sovereignty and economical entity of the state are at stake for Poles.
Russian imperialism and impunity of powers
Karol Nawrocki started with a problem that Poland knows from its own history: global governance loses credibility erstwhile crime and aggression do not entail responsibility. He recalled that after planet War II Poland was under russian Russia's dominance, although the state liable for crimes co-decided postwar order as a permanent associate of the UN safety Council.
The president linked this historical impunity to today's Kremlin policy. Russia called itself a country guided by the imperial and neocolonial imagination of the world. He pointed out that the effort to subjugate a neighboring state was a denial of the United Nations Charter. This is simply a consistent development. Nawrocki's earlier informing that Russia is not changing.
In this part of the speech an crucial declaration was made: Poland is not seeking war, but it is strengthening the army and alliances to deter the aggressor. The President's office cited the words: "Our goal is to deter and defend". It is the right language of the Polish state. Peace without defence ability remains a wish, and sovereignty without strength easy becomes an empty formula.
Poland wants to talk in G20
The second strong emphasis was the position of Poland in the planet economy. Nawrocki described our country as the twentieth economy of the planet and argued that the voice of Central Europe should be heard in the G20. The Tri-Sea Region is no longer a means of catching up with the West. He has his own transformation experience, expanding possible and the right to co-determine trade rules and safety of supply chains.
The application for a permanent seat in the G20 corresponds to the Polish interest. The state of our size cannot be satisfied with the function of the contractor of decisions made by the largest. The presence at the table gives the chance to defend your own industry, capital and access to the markets. Presidential activity complements talks by the Polish delegation during the UN session, but its value will be measured by result, not number of meetings.
Family, demography and illegal migration
Nawrocki pointed out that falling fertility, ageing societies and weakening social ties undermine the foundations of states. Answers must not be limited to economical instruments. A strong family, appreciation of parenthood and a life-friendly culture are needed. This position is bold in the UN today, as it strikes a convenient illusion that any demographic crisis can be flooded with transfers or imports of labour.
The president combined the demographic crisis with illegal migration, which is sometimes linked to human trafficking. The problem requires border control and cooperation of states, not moral blackmail against the people who bear the cost of incorrect policies. The dignity of the migrant hates the right of Poland to decide who crosses the border and under what conditions.
Economic sovereignty alternatively of climatic blindness
On environmental issues, Nawrocki rejected a policy that, under the slogan of ambitious objectives, leads to deindustrialisation and relocation of production to countries applying lower standards. Nature's protection makes sense if it does not destruct competitiveness and economical security. For Polish families this means a simple principle: transformation costs cannot be passed on to their accounts, jobs and the future of national industry.
The president besides appealed for persecuted Christians and for the protection of man from manipulation utilizing artificial intelligence. In both cases, the point of mention was the dignity of the person, not the convenience of the institution or the interest of technological tycoons.
Poland needs efficiency, not ceremony
Nawrocki's speech had a coherent axis: the law must restrict the strong, the states have the right to sovereign decisions, and global organisations are worth as much as their ability to act. The UN will not regain assurance with further declarations if Russia as a permanent associate of the safety Council can wage aggressive war and block real responsibility.
For Poland there is simply a clear conclusion. We must strengthen the army, build an economical position, defend borders and request a place where decisions are made. Sovereignty is not an ornamental word for a talker in fresh York. It is intended to defend the life, wallets and safety of Poles.
