The fresh school year 2025/2026 is not only fresh educational challenges for students, but besides crucial financial support for parents. Government social programmes supply for assistance that, depending on the household and wellness situation of the child, can scope up to PLN 1740 per child. It is crucial to submit applications on time as any benefits can be paid on vacation before the start of the school year.
Family 800+ programme – guaranteed PLN 800 per period per child
The support is based on the programme Family 800+which provides for payment 800 zł per period for all kid under the age of 18, regardless of household income. This benefit applies from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2026 and is implemented by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
It is crucial that the application was submitted by the end of April 2025 in order to receive the benefit on time, along with the first payments. Parents who submitted papers later (in May or June) will receive money with equalization, but late, by the end of July or August.
Applications for 800+ may be submitted electronically through:
- PUE ZUS platforms,
- electronic banking,
- mobile application ZUS.
One-time 300 PLN for expedition – Good Start program
Another support is to supply Good Startwhich helps parents prepare a school journey all year. Parents can receive a single 300 PLN for all kid studying at school. The age limit is 20 years, but in the case of children with a disability, the benefit is entitled to the age of 24.
Good Start applications can be submitted from July 1 to November 30, 2025. Parents who do so in July or August can number on the payment even before the school year begins.
Family benefit and allowances – support for families with lower income
Low income families (limit is maximum PLN 674 net per personand in the case of a kid with disabilities, PLN 764 net) may apply for household allowance. Its tallness is:
- PLN 124 per month for a child,
- 135 PLN per month for pupils over 18 years.
In addition, if the kid learns outside of his residence, the household may receive:
- Appendix 113 PLN per month,
- and in the case of commutes – PLN 69 per month.
At the beginning of the school year you can besides disposable supplement of 100 PLN for each kid covered by household allowance. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 October 2025.
Allowances for single parents and children with disabilities
Single parents can number on extra an allowance of PLN 193 per month. In the case of children with a disability decision, the amount of this allowance increases to 273 PLN per month. In addition, parents of children with disabilities can get Appendix 110 PLN per month for education and rehabilitation purposes, provided that the applicable criteria are met and the essential papers are provided.
Total financial support – how much can you get?
Analysis of available benefits shows that an average household can receive about 1100 PLN per child (suming up household 800+ and Good Start programs). However, in peculiar situations where all requirements are met (segregated education, kid disability, education out of residence and low income), the full amount of support can scope even 1740 PLN per kid at the beginning of the school yearand monthly benefits PLN 1340.
On an yearly basis, this means 16 080 PLNand having respect to disposable additives, whether or not 16 480 PLN support for 1 child.
How and where to apply?
- Family 800+ and Good Start: applications are submitted to ZUS electronically (EUZUS, electronic banking, application).
- Family allowance and school allowances: operated by local social assistance centres (OPS), where a separate application is required, together with documentation confirming income and household situation.
Parents should monitor application deadlines to guarantee that benefits are paid before the start of the school year.
The 2025/2026 school year brings a number of forms of financial support for families with children.
