Protests of residents and pro-life environments outside the infirmary in Lubań became 1 of the most commented local events of fresh days. Demonstrators object to hiring Gizela Jagielska doctors at the Łużycki Medical Center, pointing to her erstwhile activity in Oleśnica and to participating in loud disputes about abortion in Poland. The issue is very emotional and is part of a broader debate on the limits of law, medical ethics and the function of public hospitals.

However, it is certain that the issue of the employment of Gizela Jagielska in Lubań has become a symbol of a wider debate on the limits of freedom of conscience, the function of medicine and the work of public authorities towards the inhabitants.
