Throughout history, various arguments were utilized in the missionary work to emphasize the importance of the truths celebrated during Christmas – among others, philosophical, theological, biblical and civilizational arguments. Today, however, a different category of arguments, which, for deficiency of a better term, could be called contrast-self-preservation, becomes highly meaningful.
In this context, it is peculiarly suggestive to have an infinitely tacky propaganda, which is poured out on Christmas days from all kinds of high-end gadzinki, taking into account a full scope of varieties, including the balamutno-quarter-intelligent variety ("Do you know that Christ may have had a wife or may not have been at all?"), quip-therapistical ("Best Advice to last Christmas Dinner") and gossip-scandal ("Another pathology in the parish!").
The contrast between the philosophical depth, the theological grandeur and the ethical expansion of Christmas and the troublesome littleness, the sentimental sliminess and the mockery of the mentioned propaganda then becomes so expressive and conceiving that man can almost feel that on 1 side he has the glory of Heaven, and on the another side the disgustingness of hell, desiring to adhere as strictly as possible to the erstwhile and erstwhile and for all to be cleansed from the latter.
In another words, he can reliably discern to what large dignity he has been called to, and how desperately this dignity is trying present to trample on all the centres of influence that breathed with sulfur. This, in turn, may prove to many to be a stronger and spiritually more effective experience than reading the Theological Summa, dealing with the art of Fra Angelico, or even testifying to the conversion of loved ones. Thus, during the continuing vacation period, it remains to want for akin experiences as many of those who request them most urgently.
