U.S. president Donald Trump's administration is trying to get the EU to impose measures against China, but at this stage, it has failed to do so. — stated the Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources acquainted with the information.

US president Donald Trump said earlier on Friday that it is hard to do business with the EU, and that trade talks "go nowhere", so he proposes a 50% work per block from 1 June.

Sources acquainted with the US-EU talks told the paper that Trump advisers privately expressed discontent with European officials that negotiations slowed down due to the various commercial priorities of block members. The publication adds, citing sources, that the communication process between EU members, which is frequently slow, is the main origin of the irritation of the Trump administration. The EU has besides mostly remained in its own positions on Trump's demands.
