Participants in demonstrations supporting Palestine disrupted the graduation ceremony at the University of Michigan on Saturday. There was a clash with the police at Virginia University.
U.S. students show at many colleges, setting up tents as a protest against the Gaza War. They call on president Joe Biden to intervene to halt force and request that universities halt investing in companies supporting the Israeli government, including arms providers.
According to Reuters' account, dozens of students in conventional arabian kefiys and alumni caps, holding Palestinian flags, marched at the Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, during the graduation ceremony of the academic year, among cheers and cheers from the crowd. Despite the incident, the celebrations were not interrupted. Protesters were escorted by the college police to the back of the stadium, but no arrests were made.

"Peaceful protests have been held at akin ceremonies for decades. The university supports freedom of speech and speech, and the university's authorities are satisfied that today's graduation ceremony was specified an crucial moment," added the spokesperson.
On Saturday, tension escalated again at Virginia University in Charlottesville, where police officers in full armament faced demonstrators, any tying hands and dragging them on the lawn.
In total, more than 2,000 people were detained in US universities in connection with protests.
These anti-war demonstrations broke out in consequence to the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, which began after the Hamas attack on October 7. Israel reports that 1,200 people were killed in response, while the Palestinian authorities study more than 34,000 deaths and demolition of Palestinian territory.
