SAVANNAH- Gulfstream Aerospace has secured FAA and EASA certifications for the Gulfstream G800, making it the longest-range private aircraft in the world.

With certification now complete, the Gulfstream G800 boasts an enhanced range of 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and is set to begin deliveries across the United States (New York, Los Angeles) and Europe (London, Paris).

Longest Range Private Aircraft in the World

The Gulfstream G800 has officially surpassed its original performance projections following type certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The G800’s updated range of 8,200 nm (15,186 km) at Mach 0.85 exceeds initial targets by 200 nm (370 km), reaffirming its position as the longest range private aircraft in the world.

At its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, it achieves 7,000 nm, and at Mach 0.87, it reaches 8,000 nm. Its maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935, up from 0.925, ensures faster transcontinental and intercontinental flights.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and featuring Gulfstream’s aerodynamic wing and winglet design, the G800 combines fuel efficiency with high performance, enabling access to more destinations with fewer stops.

The aircraft’s takeoff and landing capabilities further enhance its versatility.

Certified with a balanced field length takeoff distance of 5,812 feet (1,771 m) and a landing distance of 3,105 feet (946 m) under standard ISA conditions at sea level, the G800 can operate from smaller airports inaccessible to other ultra-long-range jets.

This flexibility benefits operators flying into regional hubs or remote locations, expanding the scope of private aviation.

Design and Engineering

The G800 prioritizes passenger comfort with a cabin altitude of 2,840 feet (866 m) at 41,000 feet, matching the industry-leading Gulfstream G700.

This low cabin altitude reduces fatigue on long flights. The aircraft features 100% fresh air circulation, a plasma ionization purification system, and 16 panoramic oval windows, creating a bright, clean, and serene environment.

The whisper-quiet interior can be configured into up to four living areas or three with a dedicated crew compartment, offering tailored layouts for work, rest, or entertainment.

The G800’s certifications from the FAA and EASA mark a significant milestone for Gulfstream Aerospace, a subsidiary of General Dynamics.

The aircraft’s development reflects rigorous testing and engineering, with performance metrics exceeding expectations.

Mark Burns, Gulfstream’s president, emphasized the team’s commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, positioning the G800 as a cornerstone of the company’s next-generation fleet.

With deliveries set to begin for US and European customers, the G800 is poised to transform business aviation. Its ability to connect distant cities, such as New York to Dubai or London to Sydney, without refueling redefines global travel for executives and high-net-worth individuals.

The aircraft’s fuel efficiency also aligns with growing demands for sustainable aviation solutions, balancing performance with environmental responsibility.
