A fewer days ago president Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill implementing the EU DSA directive into the Polish legal system, introducing extremist censorship of the Internet. At the same time, the European Commission revealed a list of "trusted litters" that are to carry out the work of "signalists" in the DSA, which are allegedly denunciations of content that violate the law. As 1 might have guessed, it is only about an highly politicized in the spirit of the left-wing hawk, fighting with right and common sense.
The list of trusted EU entities was established on the basis of Digital Service Act (Digital Service Act). It is simply a group of NGOs liable for identifying possibly illegal content on the Internet.
Article 22 DSA refers to alleged ‘trusted signallers’ (trusted flags) which will be liable for identifying and reporting possibly illegal content. The referenced provision specifies that, in order to get this status, the entity should have peculiar expertise and competence for the intent of detecting, identifying and reporting illegal content, be independent of online platform providers and take action to make notifications in an accurate and nonsubjective manner, with due care.
Recital 61 of the Regulation besides states that public entities may apply for this position (e.g. bodies for reporting suspicious content on the net of national authorities prosecuted), NGOs and private entities or mixed entities. The position of trusted signaller shall be granted by the Digital Service Coordinator of the associate State where the applicant is established.
In the second half of December 2025, the European Commission published List of entities, which, on the basis of reports received from the Digital Services Coordinators of the individual associate States of the European Union (in Poland it is temporarily the president of the Office for Electronic Communications) have been classified as a category trusted flags. As of January 5th this year, more than 50 entities from various associate States of the European Union were present, but without entities based in Poland.
Among them are organizations specified as German HateAid, operating under the aegis of the local government National Institute for Holocaust investigation im. Elie Wiesela in Romania (Institutul Național pentru Studierea Holocaustului din România ‘Elie Wiesel’) whether the Central Bank of Ireland (Central Bank of Ireland).
Several organisations dealing with the fight against racism, including the global League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Ligue internationale contre le racisme et l’antisémitisme), Austrian civilian Courage and Anti-racist Work (Zara – Zivilcourte und Anti-Rassismus-Arbeit), as well as Belgian "Union".
The publication by the European Commission of the list of "trusty signaling agents" was met with criticism of conservative environments. Jacek Saryusz Wolski in the entry on the X portal points to a circumstantial political profile of those who obtained that status. “Most of these “trusty signalers” are left-wing and far-left-wing organizations. Examples include HateAID in Germany and UNIA in Belgium — UNI is so radical, extremist, and biased that the Flemish government withdrew its funding.
These “trusted signalers” request millions of removals under the pretext of “hate” — never undefined — and “disinformation” that cannot be defined. In practice, this means any opinion that is not left-wing. So we are witnessing the global industrialisation of hateful and arbitrary censorship by the EU" – emphasized Polish politicians in social media.
The list of informers has besides been criticised in the diary “To Things”. In publication from the end of the year, it was stressed that "the EC website identifies a full scope of entities that specialise in tracking down alleged "hate speech". ‘Among them there are those that have been seen for years as progressive, left-wing or liberal. Organisations specified as HateAid gGmbH or ZARA were criticized for trying to censor the conservative side of the political scene, for example by accusing racism of opponents of migration or combating criticism of LGBT demands" – It's written.
It is worth considering which actors would be delegated to the function of trusted "signalists" by the Tusk Government. In our opinion, the function of EU moneymakers on the Polish front of the fight against freedom of speech would play, for example, “Never More”, “OMZRiK”, “Campania against homophobia” and “Union of Ukrainians in Poland”.
