Left-wing fight against the Celtic Cross

For years now, leftist environments have been trying to give the general public their views on the world. Anyone who expresses different views than they are publically blunt and stigmatized. The best example of imposing their views is the fight for symbolism and terminology of concepts utilized in public space.

A left-wing conflict against historical memory is underway. The symbol that can be described as the most hostile of these environments is the Celtic Cross. This sign was inactive in Europe during the pre-Christian period.

The four-pointed cross is placed in a circle, symbolizing Celtic wreaths, the alleged rut. This form was adopted by the Catholic Church and is utilized as a spiritual symbol. The fact that nationalist groups usage this sign in public space has led to actions over the years to discredit the symbol, leading to its authoritative ban.

Despite the fact that the Celtic Cross has been associated for centuries with Christianity, left-wing environments, including the OMZRiK and “Never More” argue its links with racist movements. Focusing only on 1 kind of usage of this symbol would be logical if its antagonists with the same arduousness sought to remove from the Polish public space symbols related to the communist current.

An example is the presentation of the symbolism of the sickle and hammer or the presentation of T-shirts with communist criminal Che Guevara, to whom work for almost 10 1000 executions is attributed, with between 800 and 1,700 people being murdered by his hand[1]. However, we do not think about intellectual integrity and the consequences of the actions of these left-wingers.

The unpardonable fight against symbolism for itself is carried out by the leftist community bear witness to the conclusions of the interpelling of Michał Urbaniak in June 2023 to the Minister of Interior and Administration on the cooperation of the Ministry of abroad Affairs with highly left-wing associations. It can be found, among another things, that for many years the Polish Police utilized the manual “The Crimes of Hate” developed in 2010 by Szymon Odra.

This publication contained a list of symbols that advance (arguably) hatred – it was developed by activists of the Association “Never More”. Among the symbols of the 3rd German Reich, the author besides placed the Celtic Cross[2].

How one-sided the view of these groups is is evidenced by the complete omission of the established Catholic position in the Celtic cross. It occupies an crucial place in public space in regions of Celtic origin. An example is the stone cross in Campbeltown (Scotland). The period of its inception is assumed to be around 1380. The cross was erected in a church in Kilkivan and then moved to Campbeltown after the Reformation. In Scotland, Celtic crosses besides adorn the resting places of British soldiers who died during planet War II.

The final triumph or failure of a given ideological current and worldview creating the future of nations and states depends not so much on the organised celebrations and participation of representatives of the currents in the political life of the country, but on the belief of the full society to imposed interpretations of concepts and symbols. A skilled linguistic juggler is able to deny the fact according to historical descriptions, replacing them with terms convenient to himself.
