InPost couriers throughout Poland protest. Massively refuse to sign fresh terms

dailyblitz.de 1 month ago

The carriers working with InPost are fed up. The company's office force them to sign new, unfavourable terms of the contract, which is why couriers from all over Poland organize in protest. They compose a letter to president Rafał Brzoski and massively refuse to sign annexes. We remind everyone that the owner of the Impost is the head of the deregulation squad that Tusk created. So if his deregulation is to look like the situation in the company under his supervision, we should feel sorry for entrepreneurs in Poland.

New accounting rules – drivers lose, InPost gains and uses

On 12 May, the carriers learned about the fresh accounting rules. The company announced greater support for electrical cars, but at the same time introduced penalties for those who drive older combustion cars.

According to the fresh regulations:

  • Drivers utilizing cars older than 8 years will lose 5% of monthly remuneration.
  • As a compensation, InPost proposed 2% increase, which in the face of inflation (3.6% in 2024, forecast 4.9% in 2025) is insufficient.

– This is ridiculous. In practice we will lose, not gain – Says 1 of the couriers.

Text in blank – ‘return’ for carriers

InPost does not employment couriers straight – it cooperates with subcontractors who run micro-enterprises and employment drivers. Each of them has to sign wexel in blancowhich the company can usage in the event of a protest or a break in cooperation.

– It's a intimidation tool. If we rebel, they can enter any amount of “loss” and ruin us— explains the Silesian carrier.

Protests across Poland – “No 1 talks to us”

On May 20, Radom couriers refused to go to the area, demanding a conversation with the regional director. Their attitude met with solidarity in another regions – Silesia, Wielkopolska, Małopolska and Mazovia.

– Only annexes to sign come in. No 1 from office wants to talk to us – This is Bogdan from Rudy Silesia.

The carriers created secret group on the communicator where they coordinate operations. He's already there. 300 people from all over Poland, representing even 30-40% of InPost fleet.

Pandemic eldorado, and now continuous cuts

During the pandemic, InPost made a fortune, but couriers claim that their earnings were systematically cut.

– We utilized to save PLN 10-15 1000 a year. Now barely adequate to pay for – This is Kamil, a carrier from Wrocław.

The company besides introduced daily wage limit (900 PLN). If the courier reaches it by the end of the day, further work is not paid.

InPost: “We conduct negotiations”

InPost spokesman, Wojciech Kądziolka, claims that the company cares about fleet modernisation and ecologyand the proposed rates are ‘market’.

– We met with carriers in Bielsko-Biała and the case was clarified – He's talking.

Couriers deny: – We didn't pull anything back. We're waiting to talk after June 1.

What's next?

If InPost doesn't change his position, thousands of couriers could lose their jobsand customers experience delays in deliveries. Will Rafał Brzezaska make concessions?
