Although the front of the Russian-Ukrainian War is only a fewer twelve kilometres from Zaporozh, the city's inhabitants seem to have another problems. They were just invited to take part in a vote on changing the name of the University Square to the square of the name of the criminal Stepan Bandera.
Another city in Ukraine will introduce the Bandera cult. The initiative was announced by Paweł Krawczuk on his Facebook page, where he wrote: “My dear fellow Cossacks of Zaporos, it is time for you to make an ideological choice and vote in favour of changing the name of the University Square to Stepana Bandera Square! I believe that we Ukrainians will prove the continuity of our origin and immortality of Stepan Andreyevich's act”.
Residents were invited to take part in the vote due to the fact that the name ‘Bandera’ had allegedly become a symbol of the Ukrainian National Liberation Movement of the 20th century. For more information on the initiative and participation in the vote, see Google form. We read there, among others:
The name “Bander” became 1 of the symbols of the Ukrainian national liberation movement of the 20th century. After independence, many youth, political, and social organizations were named after him. 1 of the informal names of Lviv is ‘Banderstadt’ or ‘Banderstadt’. The music festival “Banderstadt” is held in Volyn. In the task “Great Ukrainians” the leader of Ukrainian liberation movement finished 3rd.
In Los Angeles (USA) there is Stepana Bandera street. In any cities of Ukraine, all year on January 1, there is simply a march with torches to honor Stepan Bandera's birthday. In Kiev, for the first time, specified a march was held in 2007 on the initiative of the Swoboda party. akin events take place in another cities of Ukraine, in peculiar in Lviv, Łuck, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odessa.
Since 2010, the shares have been held in Poltava, since 2011 – in Żytomierz, since 2014 – in Dnieper, since 2016 – in Kherson and Slaviansk, in 2017 they were first held in Zaporoż and Cherkasy. On January 20, 2010, “for the integrity of the spirit in defence of the national idea, heroism and dedication in the fight for an independent Ukrainian state”, Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko gave Stepan Bandera the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of State (posthumously).
Doctor of the Department of National past of Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev Ivan Patrylak is convinced that Stepan Bandera is 1 of the fewer figures in Ukrainian past of the 20th century that deserves the highest honour at state level: its only strategical and central position was the conflict for Ukraine's independence.
Even erstwhile the Ukrainian underground was destroyed, Bandera remained a symbolic figure and the face of the Ukrainian state, resulting in its liquidation. The flag has fulfilled the mission of the national flag and remains its symbol to this day.
OUR COMMENTS: As we can see, the problem of worship of criminals from the CNS/UPA in Ukraine is constantly increasing. Only a substance of time remains erstwhile this ideology will be redirected against Poland and Poles. It's inevitable.
