Groups of people gather in front of the offices, seeking to avoid possible penalties after detecting errors in the Central Vehicle Records (CEPiK). This digital platform is simply a kind of treasurer of data on all registered vehicles in Poland.
New functionality has late been added to the system, namely the provisions on exhaust emanation standards. Unfortunately, according to information provided by motorization.interia.pl, the algorithm liable for automatically assigning these standards to circumstantial vehicles does not always work as it should.
So it is worth asking: how can you check the exhaust emanation standard of your car?
Information about the exhaust emanation standard assigned to your own car can be checked on 2 platforms: on the past of the vehicle.gov.pl website and in the mcicietel application.
If an incorrect exhaust emanation standard for your vehicle is assigned to the Central Vehicle Registration (CEPiK), it is possible to apply for a correction. This procedure shall be carried out at the communication office which is competent for the vehicle registration place. The proposal should be supported by papers confirming the correct exhaust emanation standard that your car meets.
Documents confirming the exhaust emanation standard shall include, inter alia, the EC certificate of conformity, the individual vehicle approval, the decision to recognise the individual vehicle approval or the EC individual vehicle approval certificate.
The existence of an incorrect exhaust emanation standard in CEPiK is presently not straight sanctioned. Nevertheless, it may have consequences in the event of events related to it. There are already alleged Clean Transport Zones, specified as in Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw, where the entry of vehicles not gathering certain exhaust emanation standards is prohibited. In the event of a violation of this prohibition, the driver may be punished with a fine of PLN 500. It is so worth checking whether the CEPiK registry assigns an appropriate exhaust emanation standard to the vehicle. In case of error, it is recommended to submit a request for correction.
In addition, having an incorrect exhaust emanation standard in the CEPiK registry may have negative consequences, especially during the car sales process. In order to avoid possible problems in the future, it is crucial to have papers demonstrating the correct exhaust emanation standard of the vehicle. erstwhile transferring ownership, these papers will be essential for the fresh owner to registry the vehicle.
