At the beginning of the year, Michał Szuldrzyński, editor-in-chief of the “Polish Republic”, wrote the text “Inverted Classification”. He got my attention due to the fact that he deals with the concept of classism. A brief glance at this short text immediately recorded the words “a peasant” and “disco polo”. I discussed them erstwhile in the context of the “culture of humiliation” which the folk class is founded by the dominant class, i.e. the class of professional managers composed, among others, of dormitories, people of tv and entertainment, journalists, alleged intelligence, etc.
Szuldrzyński's article confirms only what I have been describing for years, and what I think a large part of Polish society sees and feels. Elites, but besides the mediate class (if at all existing and surely shrinking), whose fetish is education and a large-town lifestyle, cannot function without their class enemy, the people having "rural" customs, e.g. taking off their shoes erstwhile entering someone's flat or listening to disco polo. The elite, real or self-proclaimed, must despise the people, humiliate them and constantly shame them to feel superiority, without which they cannot breathe, emotionally control them, worldview and election discipline, preferably through the sphere of culture, including entertainment. This translates, of course, into economics and social solutions, which was large in the case of the 500 plus written program, in which the elites were in a frenzy of class contempt towards this "poor" which will spend everything on alcohol (a thing in technological literature well described, for example by Maciej Kostecki).
Szuldrzyński puts the thesis that not only this does not happen, which is in the light of the analysis of media content of mainstream. He goes on: in his opinion it is the people who tell the elite that they are classist, while they are not classist. The elites are thus a victim of the “bad word” of the people, unjustly accusing him of contempt. Elites are good, people are bad. The people are incorrect about us! To the full list of sins toward the people, actual or imaginary, or all the ointment of "phobia," was added, and of course classism.
Szuldrzyński comes out in his text from an event in rule innocent, i.e. a photograph of president Karol Nawrocki, who took his shoes off erstwhile visiting 1 of the Polish families. He concludes with the statement: “Cry on disco polo, you will hear that you hatred real Poles.” In his stream of consciousness he throws everything into 1 bag. It thus deprives its text of what it is said to be so valuable, that is the argument which is expected to separate serious media, or himself, from "populist media", or Krzysztof Stanowski. Between the deficiency of the President's shoes and disco polo wants to prove the thesis of the existence of reversed classism, that is, that the people attribute to the dominant class qualities that are not true, “convenes contempt for the masses”, resulting in unfair prejudice and hostility towards the dominant class. The people are populist, the author of the text claims, and populism is like communism, due to the fact that communism besides hated the dominant class, or bourgeoisie.
It is adequate to read Chantal Delsol's reflections on populism to realize how this analogy reveals much about its author. Communism wanted to change the people, eradicate them from its culture, and so the people resisted them. Similarly, according to the French philosopher, she is present with populism, which confronts totaliztic changes that hit the life form of the people. The people are not totalitarian. He is, if anything, individual else.
One of the first people to comment on the fact of the photograph of shoes by president Karol Nawrocki, the most average thing for average people, was the fresh Left MP, Małgorzata Prokop-Paczkowska. She stated that this was “a peasantry.” Szuldrzyński rightly considers her message to be "fool", notes that "The Left stands for the elite and the voice of the people becomes the right-wing president". "In Poland the roles have turned," he says.
Thesis of my text is as follows: Shułdrzyński, criticizing the MP of the left, does precisely what she does and shows how much he does not realize why the people do not vote for representatives of liberal-left elites and like to watch Channel Zero than to read about their classism as told to him by the editor-in-chief of “Rzeczpospolita”.
Why does he – and more broadly: the writer mainstream do not realize this? due to the fact that they're absolutely in love with themselves, they're narcissistic, and all they see is their own reflection.
The left, as well as the full "elite", including Szuldrzyński, must only be allowed to be themselves, which has enabled social media to any extent. They are so arrogant in their class superiority that they do not see completely that they lose politically not by algorithms (the author of the text mentions them), but by themselves. The people do not want individual who is not like them, due to the fact that they simply do not realize their perception of social reality, let alone that they do not represent their economical interests (how should a superior left do this, including Together?). For this, among another reasons, the election was won by Karol Nawrocki. A large part of society did not want individual culturally alien to them.
It's not that people hatred educated and language-speaking people, it's that they're told to vote against their business in the name of this pictured blow. Trzaskowski did not lose due to the fact that he became a classical victim of the people, as the writer claims. Didn't you vote for Trzaskowski? You're classies! 1 must not be in contact with reality in order to preach specified a view.
I am pleased that since the triumph of the Law and Justice in 2015, it has been managing shame and, through shame, it has not worked as before. I don't head the advanced priests of the elite feeling the way the people felt. To make them feel what they themselves gave to others. To put it briefly: no 1 cares about your abroad scholarships, your language knowledge, your musical and culinary tastes, your technological titles on no 1 are awesome anymore, due to the fact that it is adequate to perceive to you to uncertainty – rather rightly – the sense of this education and another expected qualities.
Let me give you an example. Szuldrzyński evokes the concept of classes, which is, of course, justified erstwhile speaking of reversed classism. The editor-in-chief of “Rzeczpospolita” writes that his favourite investigator of contemporary culture, Marcin Napiórkowski, wrote about myths, that their importance is that they are kept quiet about them, not due to the fact that everyone is talking about them. Szuldrzyński claims that for years we have been dealing with class conflict in Poland, but it is very uncommon for it to be named directly, which is due to the fact that after the systemic transformation, talking about classes is an aberration, which mainly concerns politicians.
Apart from the question of how many humanists and publicists compose about classes in Poland, Napiórkowski, as a structuralist and semiologist, uses the notion of story not as something that he consciously and intentionally is silent about, due to the fact that then it would be taboo. He speaks about this in the context of something that remains beyond the consciousness of those who participate in the story and meanings of it (the story in Lévi-Strauss is an expression of hidden structures of the human mind).
Your lyrics alone are an argument for your class opponents.
Or another example from Szuldrzyński: the already mentioned disco polo. It's not that you can't criticize this species. The criticism is that they say something like, “I don’t like this music, due to the fact that I am annoyed by its rhymes.” This is criticism, but it's not about criticism, it's about an ostentatious expression of contempt towards its listeners by elite people, specified as music journalists and dormitories. There are many texts on this subject, just read. You do the same with the taste of an elite representative, he's about to feel a victim of your class. He can be a classie, you can't. His classism is better than your “classicism.”
This is simply a rational, full legitimate, rejection of the elite by the people, they respect as classism, unwarranted “know-phobia”, the people's reluctance towards allegedly superiors. “They envy us, but they are incapable to match our wisdom, that is why they hatred us, and yet we love them so much”, Szałdurzyński seems to say, recalling the notion of resentation. This stupid people just can't see our love! How do you admit her? After bruises, due to the fact that he fights out of love, like in a decent Polish Catholic home – or alternatively in his imagination from the beliefs of the elite. How you are Polish in criticism invented by himself Polish as abnormal!
It's the chaotic talk of Szuldrzyński about inverted classism that's simply not true. simply quite a few people, thanks to the net and the full information infrastructure not controlled by the liberal hegemony, have seen that the authorities to which Szuldrzyński so invokes are simply not. That they're cognitively weak, that they talk nonsense, and what's important, they absolutely don't realize average people and a number of their problems. You can see present that this is any alienated and surviving group of people in their planet who want others to do and watch out for what they want them to do and be careful. The people stopped prostrating to the educated above the standard elite, no longer serving her imagination of the world. He's obeyed. Thus, he must be again branded with another word from the list of sins.
Whose responsibility is that? Of course, net media, which is an analogy to the translation by the left of its failures. No wonder, it's inactive the same elite logic: they're guilty, we never.
Bad populists had the nerve to have their media? Scandal!
The enemy of Szuldrzyński is Krzysztof Stanowski. It is simply a journalistic and political phenomenon, which I frequently discuss with students who clearly sense the unobvious nature of the transformation of journalism under the influence of the Internet. I have an ambivalent view of its phenomenon, but the fact is that Channel Zero has shown 1 thing: you can watch a fewer hours of conversation between 2 people who would not be seen in any another medium. Incidentally, since watching the show with Jasie Kapela, I have already understood why the left is not working and has become a meme. It's not algorithms, or not just them, it's alternatively the responsibility of you as a broad environment – of who you are.
Hitting “populistic media” only strengthens them, as they are accused of what is not respected. Stanowski showed this by going to war with the “Gazeta Wyborcza” and showing its infidelity. I am absolutely certain that if it had not been for the success of "populistic media", there would have been no mention of government regulation projects on the Internet. How can those who are masters in it care about the issue of hatred speech, including in the form of classism? I do not mean absolutely not to see the bad sides of social media, due to the fact that there is simply quite a few these, but that this fight is political, though hidden under the slogans of safety – and you should be naive not to see it.
Michał Szuldrzyński has so long diverted classism, that is, attention from who is simply a classist, that he turned completely in his dance (not a field disco!).
