In Polish politics it boils again. Neoprezes neoTK Bogdan Święczkowski – formerly the politician of the Żoliborski organization Dzida – made a notification of the suspicion of committing a crime of coup, to which the prosecution does not recognise both him and his chief Jarosław Kaczyński, in which Prime Minister Donald Tusk, talker of the Sejm Simon Hołownia and talker of the legislature of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska would be involved. The investigation in this case was initiated by Deputy lawyer General Michał Ostrowski linked loyal to the Law and Justice, against whom disciplinary proceedings are being conducted.

Świętczkowski stressed that "this is not a coup d'état consisting of bringing troops into the streets, it is simply a creeping, systemic coup". These words echoed the public debate and shared the public opinion.

Kaczyński supports the notice

President of Law and Justice Jarosław Kaczyński expressed his full support for Świętczkowski's actions and the decision to initiate the investigation. He stated that he had taken this step with satisfaction, citing Article 127 of the Criminal Code as a legal basis.

"I have repeatedly referred to Article 127 of the Criminal Code, due to the fact that this should qualify for illegal takeover of public media, The National Prosecutor's Office, preventing the functioning of the TK and the KRS and a number of another openly violating laws and constitutions, actions," Kaczyński commented on social media.

Donald Tusk responds to the video

Prime Minister Donald Tusk immediately responded to these allegations. On platform X (formerly Twitter) he posted a recording in which he played ping-pong. The video provided a short comment: “The coup d'état”, adding an emoticon suggestive of irony.

You can hear the conversation on the film: “Look, Kaczyński says you did a coup,” says 1 of the participants. ‘Come on. We have serious business here. We'll deal with it later" says Tusk, hitting himself with a rocket to the head. The material ends with a loud laugh.

Kaczyński counterattacks

Jarosław Kaczyński's answer came almost immediately. At a press conference, the PiS leader referred to Tusk's recording.

"I know there was a first reaction. The Prime Minister is playing ping-pong and this is the most crucial thing for him. We will not neglect to inform the public in various ways. I besides thank the Prime Minister for allowing us to do so," Kaczyński said.

He besides stressed that the case was besides serious to be treated jokingly. “Second, they were blasts of laughter, and the substance is not funny,” said the president of PiS.

"I wanted to express my deep hope that the time would come for these gentlemen to halt laughing," he added.

Another installment of political dispute

The allegations of coup and their ironic rejection by Donald Tusk are also installment of the increasing conflict between the government and the opposition. Acute statements and common accusations only deepen the political deadlock, which has divided the Polish political scene for months.

Will the charges be upheld and the investigation will have concrete results? Or is the full thing just a political part of the game? 1 thing is certain – emotions in Polish politics are inactive reaching out.
