JULY 11 A DAY OF REMEMBER OF CRITERIA

July 11, 1943 – The Sculpture of Volyn. "Ukrainian nationalists did not hesitate to fulfill the biggest and cruelest crime"

On 11 July 1943, Ukrainian nationalism ceased to be counted with all-human ideas specified as solidarity, mercy, humanism. He did not hesitate to fulfill the top and cruelest crime. It is estimated that more than 4,000 Polish villages and towns were massacred and burned by the Ukrainian Insurgency Army. She's besides under the banner slogans:

Either it will be Ukraine, or Polish blood to the knees, Death of 1 Pole – this is simply a metre of free Ukraine - half a million Poles sent to that world.

These cruel crimes cannot be erased from memory, erased from history, leaving no informing for posterity. We must not forget this due to the fact that we would desecrate this terrible sacrifice and fall to the executioners. We must begin to preach the full fact free of silence, pervasiveness, and manipulation. A bold fact that reaches to the root of evil.
The day before the start of the Volynian Rzezi came to the UPA camp in Koniechy 2 Polish military Krzysztof Markiewicz and Zygmunt Rumel for talks of the last chance to halt attacks by Ukrainian nationalists on Poles surviving in Volyn and east Małopolska.

Despite erstwhile assurances and declarations from Ukrainians and an iron letter, giving guarantees of immunity to Polish parliamentarians, they were immediately captured and torn by horses. The next day the first Komandir Holovny UPA Dmytro Kłaczkiwszkyj nickname Kłym Sawur, implementing the directive of Mykoła Łebedia, nicknamed Ruban, a erstwhile OUN substitute for Bandera, who ordered Poles to be killed from a baby in a cradle to an old man at the grave), began the slaughter of Volyn.

This was done in accordance with the conviction of Łebedia, who stated that there could be no talk of expulsion, it was about physical liquidation of Poles on the spot.

In an order to his subordinate Ataman, Sawur wrote:
You should carry out a immense liquidation action of the Polish element. With the withdrawal of German troops, this convenient minute should be utilized to destruct the full Polish population... We cannot lose this conflict and at any price we must weaken Polish forces. Villages and villages should vanish from the face of the earth.

The apogee of this crime, with the expulsion of the indigenous Polish population, began on a mass scale on 11-12 July 1943.

In these 2 days alone, OUN-UPA curials and sots carried out simultaneous assaults on more than 160 villages and settlements in Poland, killing more than 20,000 people in an even different way in human history.
During the full period of July, the massive attack of the OUN-UPA band covered a full of over 530 localities on Volyn alone.
One of the bandits, Kirynnyj, Łysyj’ reported:

"On August 29, I carried out an action in the villages of Wola Ostrowiecka and Ostrówówka. I eliminated all Poles from tiny to old (967 people, including 466 children up to 14 years).

I've burned down all the buildings, all the property, all the skinny stuff. This terrible execution was carried out under slogans: The death of 1 Lacha is simply a metre of free Ukraine, Ukraine will, and is to be clean as a glass of spring water".

After all, there were most likely any fluctuations even among the rezuns themselves, since Sawur one more time ordered:

"To follow instructions: to destruct Poles and their place of residence by all means; to kill besides those fleeing. In propaganda, it is said that the Polish UPA population is humane.

In August 1943, Kłaczkiwszki was replaced by Roman Szuchewycz – Taras Czuprynka, Tur.
“Czuprynka” besides issued a genocidal order in the spring of 1944: In connection with the success of Bolsheviks, it is essential to accelerate the liquidation of Poles, cut out into trunk, purely Polish villages smoke, mixed villages-only Polish population.

For murdering 1 Ukrainian or by a Pole or by Germans, shoot 100 Poles".

The brochure, on the another hand, said:

"The fame of Ukraine.

We fight without pardon, who is not Ukrainian to death. Historically our enemies Poles and Jews – all of them death."

However, the banders did not halt in their genocide only on Volyn itself, due to the fact that after a fewer days they besides started on 3 east Polish provinces: Tarnopolskie, Stanisławowskie and Lwowskie.

Eastern Poles, however, were to last their apocalypse at the hands of UPA, in the second russian occupation. They were slaughtered 4 times as many as in Volyn.

Anti-Polish actions and massacres of the population were carried out according to 3 main scenarios - these were attacks on towns mainly inhabited by Poles, actions against Poles surviving in Ukrainian or mixed villages, and attacks on respective groups of Poles or individuals.

In the case of attacks on larger Polish colonies, UPA frequently utilized the component of surprise - attacking at night, at dawn or during farm work or Sunday Mass, erstwhile residents were concentrated in 1 place.

The village was surrounded by cordon armed with UPA members' firearms, the task of which was to shoot the runners. another attackers, members of Ukrainian self-defense troops cooperating with UPA, armed with ax, knives, forks, scythes set for the storm and another farm tools, spread through the settlement and murdered residents, frequently torturing them.
The victims were Poles of various genders and ages, as well as Ukrainians who helped Poles or passed from Orthodox to Catholicism. The area of the village was carefully searched, and raids were held on refugees in the surrounding forests and fields.

In the second kind of attacks directed against Polish residents of Ukrainian or mixed settlements, smaller groups of attackers, besides acting out of surprise, took part. The murders made on individual Poles frequently active refugees from settlements or travellers.

A common feature of the action against Poles was the tremendous cruelty, connected with the robbery of property and the burning of farms, and the demolition of material traces of Polish presence in Volyn, specified as manors, churches and chapels, and even gardens or parks.

Attempts to talk or negociate with the Ukrainian side were unsuccessful.

Both the Ukrainian Povs dance the Army (UPA) and the indigenous peasantry there surpassed themselves in inventing ways to kill innocent people.

Everyone was killed without pardon, without saving children, women and old people. Fetals were torn out of the wombs of pregnant mothers, breasts were cut off, eyes were pulled out, horses were torn apart.

Murders were carried out with large cruelty, frequently preceded by elaborate torture, then villages and settlements were plundered and burned. After the massacres, peasants from neighbouring Ukrainian villages entered the village on carts, taking the property remaining after the murdered Poles.

One of the most bloody crimes at that time was the slaughter of Poles in Kolodno in the siliceite district.

On 14 July 300 uppers entered the village, who divided into tiny groups and spread across the homesteads. Houses inhabited by Poles were indicated to them by local Ukrainians. Upon entering their homes, the bandits murdered them with an axe or a firearm. The slaughter lasted about 3 hours, according to any sources, up to 500 people were murdered, including many children.

And this is what “the scenery after the battle” looked like, whose perpetrator was the “heroic UPA” seen through the eyes of the celebrated guerrilla Joseph Sobiesiak – “Max”:

During the first day of the march, on the full route, about 35 kilometres, we did not meet a single village inhabited by people.

The huts were mostly burned and leveled to the ground, and chaotic dogs and cats wandered through the ruins. Here and there under snow, human bones stood.

It would seem that any terrible demon of demolition visited this unfortunate earth, consuming man along with all that his head and hands have created for centuries. We looked at the desert with horror, listening to the wind of the crying of children and the groaning of murdered women.

The real face of the OUN – UPA was seen by the Volynski Regional Delegate of the Republic of Poland Juliusz Kozłowski – “Silence”, who wrote in his letter to the political management of UPA, on 25 November 1943:

The Germans of Ukrainian nationality, not Poles, began mass and barbarous massacres of defenceless Polish people.
Remember that what is presently happening in Volyn is the work of the full Ukrainian nation, that you and your future generations will pay the bill.

You must not protest quietly, submit to criminal terror, and proceed to let the enemy to destruct your future with his hands.
Don't you see that he means that at the end of the war, the word Ukrainian means the word murderer?

A brave act is liable for your necessity.
The slaughter and execution never build an independent existence, and they exclude from the civilization community and are clear evidence of state immaturity.

The weapons for this work came mostly from German hands, military training came from there, and this is what tragically tied your name with Germany in the world's opinion.

When you admit openly that the Germans have utilized your hatred of us to spread rampant panic in Poland – we will appreciate your position.

Only the realization of common errors can reduce the gap between us.

The authorities of the present Ukraine must be aware of the fact that UPA was no “insurgency army”, only “rizun curials”, a criminal anti-partisan set up to live for the slaughter of the Polish population in the sovereign but occupied Polish state.

Even the UPA's actions against Nazi invaders are invented, so that only for criminals can gain the Kombatant rights. It should be added that there was not a single UPA branch in Ukraine. The only action of UPA was to execution Poles in Volyn and in east Małopolska but Lviv. In Lviv, Ukrainians have committed respective murders and have found that in this inactive Polish city under German occupation, despite the existence of Ukrainian police, they could not do so with impunity.

At the beginning of 1944, Poles were already located only in cities, around self-defense centers (various groups, branches, centres, and self-defense bases), which sustained Ukrainian opposition and in guerrilla troops, which, in cooperation with branches of the Home Army, among others, the 27th Volhyńska AK Division, attempted to organize defence and retaliation actions against UPA.

Crimes were the work (UPA) of the Ukrainian Insurgency Army, reinforced in March and April 1943 by deserters from the Ukrainian Auxiliary Police, assisted by Ukrainian peasantry called black,

Self-defensive Kuszcz Widdila and the Service of the Bezpeky OUN-B.
According to various data, it is estimated that the OUN-/UPA criminals murdered in the savage genocide, never before known on a global scale, from 11 July to the end of September 1943 in Volyn from 100 to 140 1000 Poles.

Heroes of the Crests of the brightest Republic eternal memory, honor and glory!
