Yesterday (17.06.2024) Polish media ran information about the planned release of the stadium ŁKS and Widzew Łódź to 2 Israeli football clubs. The message has been denied.

Israeli football clubs Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Beer Szewa reported in social media that in the European Conference League competitions they would execute as hosts at Polish stadiums. It's actually about Łódź. Maccabi would play at the local LKS facility and Hapoel at Widzew Stadium. Łódź fans and club representatives declared that they cut off from this decision the stadium owners. It was possible to make stadiums available to the Poles themselves, who with Israel conducting genocide in the Palestinians do not want anything to do.

"We inform you that ŁKS Łódź has no connection to the organization of Maccabi Haifa club matches in the European Cups at the Władysław Król Municipal Stadium. Questions about the case should be addressed to the admin of the facility, Maciej Łaski, the president of the Municipal Board of the Arena of Culture and Sport,” we read in the communication from the authorities of ŁKS.

A akin message was made by the Widzew authorities: “In connection with the media reports that have appeared, Widzew Łódź S.A. informs that there is no cognition of any another clubs playing at the stadium at 138 Piłsudski. The operator of the facility is the Municipal Arena of Culture and athletics and it is up to it to address all questions in this area."

The City Arena of Culture and athletics reported that matches [Maccabi Haifa] would not take place. No another matches of Israeli teams are planned on another Łódź facilities – we can read in a message on the MAKiS website.

Added: Władysław Król's Municipal Stadium in Łódź, was selected by UEFA and PZPN, as a facility gathering the strict requirements for the organisation of matches in the UEFA European Cups. On the way of negotiations, there were talks about a possible stadium rental, for the intent of organising these games. However, the agreement has not been signed and will not be signed.
