Donald Trump was sworn in as president of the United States for the second time in history, taking office as 47th President. The ceremony was held at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., according to tradition. Trump announced changes on a global scale in his speech.
– From now on, our country will flourish and be respected again in the world. All nations will envy us, and we will not let ourselves to be used. all day my administration will make America the most important, said Trump during the ceremony.
Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz: “You are traitors to Europe”
Trump's oath has sparked many comments in Europe. Euro MP of the civilian Coalition (KO), Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, criticized the support of Law and Justice (PiS) politicians for the American leader. During the debate in the European Parliament, he spoke harshly to representatives of the Polish right.
– To the right of the room: halt pretending to be free speech. You are the Trump and Muska organization in the European Union," said Sienkiewicz. He stressed that the functioning of the X platform, belonging to Elon Musk, could be a threat to European policy.

In his speech he referred to the function of American technology corporations in shaping public opinion and the possible consequences of Trump's commercial war.
– Yesterday, you were applauding Trump, and you do not head that this president of the United States announced a trade war destroying the economy of the European Union. present you are defending American online platforms and do not head that their algorithms will be part of American technological aggression towards Europe," he added.
Sienkiewicz warned that the deficiency of effective action by the European Commission in regulating online platforms could lead to a failure of sovereignty by the European Union.
– You on the right are the forerunner of this aggression, you are traitors to Europe – he concluded.
Rafał Trzaskowski: “A good president can establish relationships”
Rafał Trzaskowski, leader of the Civic Coalition, presented a completely different position during a press conference in Białogard. He expressed a more subdued approach to working with the fresh American president.
– I've seen very different reactions to what Trump said yesterday, and I've seen quite a few emotions, and very affirmative ones, and very negative ones. And I think that little emotion and more reason – Trzaskowski stressed. He pointed out that his goal is to take care of Poland's interests in relations with the USA.
– The good president of the Republic is individual who can relate. I am convinced that specified relations with Donald Trump would be very quick, due to the fact that for many years I have been talking to politicians from his surroundings," added Trzaskowski. He besides recalled invitations to Republican politicians to events specified as Campus Poland's Future.
Breakdowns in Europe and Trump policy
Donald Trump's re-election opens a fresh chapter in global relations, simultaneously creating divisions in Europe. The policy of “America above all”, the announcement of trade wars and support for American technology corporations become inflammatory points in relations between the US and the EU.
