On Sunday evening, Israeli media reported Jehuda Widawski's death. He was 107 years old and was considered the oldest Holocaust survivor in Israel. He survived the German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.
After the war, Widawski emigrated to Israel. In subsequent years he came to Poland many times. He documented judaic burial sites and engaged in the restoration of cemeteries destroyed and neglected after the Holocaust.
