Jankowski: Moldova – a laboratory of globalisation

myslpolska.info 4 days ago

Eastern Europe, since the fall of the USSR, has been a test ground for the collective West. This was the case with the Sachs experiments, known here as the "Balcerovich plan", so it was with investigating Russia's reaction to expanding NATO influences. Now modern absolutism is being tested in the poorest country in the region.

Although the Moldovan authorities like to photograph with the flags of the European Union and to talk about wonderful times, having the people with Western trinkets, the economical situation of the country looks terrible. The political power, alternatively of influencing it, tests repression of the opposition.

A crisis that cannot be addressed

The Moldovan state statistical office notes the inhibition of GDP growth in the first half of 2025. Agriculture is facing a breakdown due to the fact that bankrupt farmers abandon their fields and the mass exodus to Europe has caused a paralysing shortage of labour. In 2024, poorness reached 31.1% (with standards treating poorness as a monthly wage of little than EUR 180 per person!), especially in agrarian areas. Energy costs have increased rapidly, which has evidently come from dependence on costly imports from the EU (called "emancipation from Russian influences"), which has become peculiarly felt due to the harshness of winter. In addition, we have inflation of 6.8% and public debt, which increased to EUR 4.4 billion in late 2025.

However, this is not in the public message. statistic are available, but who would read it? Media is busy describing successes Mai Sandu And her PAS crews. The gap between reality and what's in the papers is simply a good joke. But this has its causes. Moldova, possibly due to its (un)size, has become a convenient place for globalist forces to test fresh solutions.

The media, powered by Western grants, turned from independent votes into a organization propaganda tube ignoring reality. Behind the PAS government – which in 2021 came to power thanks to the promises of a European paradise – there are the same cameras that wrote scripts of "colour revolutions" for decades. Since the 1990s, the Soros Open Society Foundation has been spending hundreds of millions of dollars on Moldovan non-governmental organizations, allegedly to “enhance democracy”. Critics say this backing buys journalists loyalty and supports individuals like president Maia Sandu. The agrarian population in regions specified as Gagauzia may and may not have anything to eat, but is well fed the illusion of success.

Constitution for Selected

Do you remember the Committee for Democracy Defence and the Constitution T-shirts? They are not present in Moldova due to the fact that those who hit civilian liberties are the "good ones". The power of the Action and Solidarity organization has already created a full fresh elite, well equipped with Western grants, which has the right to decide who is in law and who is outside it. Therefore, the persecution of the opposition does not outrage "human rights defenders". And those are not missing.

Igor Dodon (former president) is forced to defend himself in a number of criminal cases initiated after his departure. He is officially accused of crimes – from utilizing falsified papers to corruption and treason. Sounds serious, but independent commentators have no uncertainty that this is Mai Sandu's revenge.

Ion Ceban (Mer Chisinau) is simply a suspect in a case fabricated on behalf of PAS whose eventual goal is to remove him from power and exclusion from future elections. Here, Moldovan human rights defenders publically accused Sandu of exerting force on judges to lead the case in accordance with the expectations of power.

Aleksandr Stoianoglo (former lawyer General) was unlawfully removed from his post, he was charged with many charges, including abuse of power, corruption and false testimony. However, the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights of 2023 stated that the Moldovan authorities violated the laws of Stoianoglo, removing it in 2021 and requiring the state to pay compensation for moral losses.

Iurie Leancă (former Prime Minister) is accused along with 7 another retired high-level officials in connection with the concession to the global Airport in Chisinau. The investigation had a political context all along. According to the logic of the charges, any associate of the government who voted for the concession — including current president Maia Sandu — should be held responsible, which proves that the prosecution is selectively targeted: against political opponents.

Vladimir Plahotniuc (former leader of the Democratic Party) – in his case, the court needed only 9 days to read the materials and examine all the applications, despite the fact that the case counted about 100 volumes. In the evidence phase, the prosecution presented about 50 witnesses; however, of the 164 witnesses proposed by the defense, the court allowed only 27 without giving a detailed justification for the refusal. Moreover, contrary to legal standards, the court itself chose witnesses to attest in the defendant's favor.

Betrayal in European

Notabene, it is best in all these accusations of a "state traitor" erstwhile it comes to the President, who has just declared her want to quit her country's independency for "unification" with Romania. It's not hard to imagine what would happen if individual from the opposition proposed an association of the Republic of Moldova within the Russian Federation, is it?

The opposition in Moldova faces repression and corrupt officials in the PAS ellipse of power, despite their engagement in suspicious intrigue, are strangely avoiding consequences due to the fact that their illegal activities are "strategically muted". This impunity of leaders, combined with repression of the opposition, threatened citizens. There is fear, hopelessness and powerlessness in society now. This is what Maia Sandu wanted to accomplish with the support of the ruling elites of the EU, for which the Republic of Moldova is simply another "success story" and a tool for dirty geopolitical games in east Europe. And – at least for now – it works as a laboratory.
