At the Hungarian Debreczyna Stadium, where Raków Częstochowa faced Maccabi Haifa in the 3rd circular of the elimination of the Conference League, there was a serious scandal.

Israeli fans hanged a banner with the inscription “Murderers since 1939” – a groundless and a historical accusation against Poles about their participation in the Holocaust, planned and conducted by Nazi Germany.

Sports writer Łukasz Ciona, present at the match, commented on the situation strongly:

"Spiker Maccabi challenges us from Nazis, they are any sick people".

Raków Częstochowa did not want to comment on the event, writing only:

Political reactions came immediately. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the MON, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, called the supporters' behaviour absolutely scandalous and called UEFA to react, pointing out that "There is no and there will be no consent to historical lies against our nation."

On the another hand, Sławomir Mentzen, the leader of the Confederacy, pointed out through social media:

“The killers of 60,000 people, including 18,000 children since 2023. Rakov's fans are right. Israel murders and the planet is silent. No lying judaic banners will cover it up."

In the X entry, president Karol Nawrocki described the banner as scandalous and wrote:

"The foolishness which no words explain."

He besides stressed that the banner offends the memory of citizens-victims of planet War II, among which were 3 million Jews.

In this atmosphere, more and more voices call on the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs to respond decisively. Advocate Bartosz Lewandowski expressed skepticism about the reaction, pointing out that the current MFA spokesman, erstwhile writer “Gazeta Wyborcza”, would not take a decisive position, and appealed to historical controversy related to the publications of this newspaper.
