Hot on the border! The immigrants set fire to the Polish border mark and threw stones at borderers

On Monday, during a roadside inspection in the town of Lazy, Border defender officers revealed a Georgian citizen carrying 5 foreigners in a Toyota vehicle. Men entered Poland illegally.

On Tuesday, however, 3 helpers were detained in organizing illegal border crossings. A Polish citizen, travelling in Mercedes, carried 4 Syrian citizens and was detained in the town of Czyże (Hajnowski County). Police officers supporting the Border defender in the state border protection detained 2 cars in the territory of Hainowski in which illegal migrants were transported. In 1 of them, a Uzbek citizen was carrying 3 men (Afghan nationals) and in the other, a Kyrgyz citizen besides attempted to transport 3 Afghan citizens into Europe.

The Border defender reminds us that for organizing and assisting in illegal border crossing, up to 8 years of imprisonment are threatened. In the face of all foreigners detained for ancillary services, who have been legally resident in Poland, an administrative procedure is initiated in parallel to the decision requiring them to return to their country of origin. They will besides be prohibited from entering the Schengen States for a period of 5 to 10 years.

In the past year, foreigners accounted for over 90 percent of those detained for aiding illegal border crossing, in accordance with Article 264, paragraph 3, of the Criminal Code. Among these smugglers were mainly Ukrainians and Georgians, as was the case in the erstwhile 2 years.
