The IPN responded to the bad guys. There's no consent to symmetrism

A fewer days ago, the Ukrainian embassy in Poland and the Kiev IPN issued communications in which the Polish side was threatened with retaliation, in case the anti-Bander law was pushed through. Retaliation is to trust on symmetrical designation of the National Army and the Peasants Battalions as genocidal organizations. For these revelations He's made his point. Yesterday Polish IPN. He did not leave a dry thread on the Badner vision, criticizing the politicization of history.

The IPN responded to the bad guys. The Polish Parliament has late received presidential amendments to the Act on the Institute of National Memory and the Criminal Code. The document's justification indicated that the proposed amendment to the Act on the Institute of National Memory – the Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation – is to clarify the provisions defining the nature and scope of prosecution of persons promoting the cult of crimes and members of the CNS/UPA and another Ukrainian cooperative formations with the 3rd Reich.

The aim of the Act is to prevent the dissemination of false claims in this respect, in peculiar Volyn negationism.

It didn't take long for the Ukrainians to respond. The Ukrainian embassy in Poland immediately condemned the alignment of UPA and OUN activities with totalitarian Nazism and communism. Ukrainians say that the bill should not "politicise the common historical heritage". They stressed that investigation is presently being conducted to find not only how the genocide took place in Volyn and Galicia, but besides why it happened. According to them, this case is inactive open, and the genocide in Volyn was supposedly a “brotherly war”.

Due to these revelations, the following message appeared on the profile of Polish IPN on X: "National Memorial Institute noted a list of historians and public figures published by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, treating it as a political manifesto. The Polish Institute of National Memory consistently does not comment on matters of a political nature.

However, the application of symmetry to the activities of the Organizations of Ukrainian Nationalists and Ukrainian Insurgency Army and National Army and Peasants Battalions is, in the light of the historical sources available, inappropriate. The OUN-UPA symbolism is inextricably linked to the Volynian Crime, or genocide committed by Ukrainian nationalists on the Polish population.

Out of respect for victims, it cannot be tolerated in public space in Poland. The IPN recalls that Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation is possible only on the basis of historical truth, whose cognition requires the establishment of burial sites for Polish victims, exhumation and commemoration of all the murdered".

OUR COMMENTS: Let us hope that, as part of the promised retaliation, Ukraine will not offend Poland so much that it will give all the money and weapons that it received from us. I don't think we could stand the insult!
