Hanna Szymerska had the chance to talk to Krzysztof Kaniewski, a associate of the Bolesław Chrobry Social Committee and a talker at the conference. The Social Committee of Bolesław Chrobry is celebrating the millennium of the coronation of Bolesław Chrobry for the first king of Poland on April 12th in Krakow. As Nationalists.net we have covered the media patronage of the Millennium March of the Kingdom of Poland

Hanna Szymerska: Thank you very much for accepting the invitation. Why was Chrobry's coronation so crucial to our country?

Krzysztof Kaniewski: The Coronation of Chrobry was of large importance due to the fact that it sealed the work which Chrobry's father, Mieszko I, had already conducted, and thus the association of the Slavic tribes so far, organized them into 1 strong community which was transformed as a consequence of the actions of Chrobry into a Polish people. Chrobry crowned and preserved on the political map of Europe the fact that there was an independent force centre, which was the Polish state. It is possible to discuss what would have been if, while it is certain that Chrobry, erstwhile taking up wars with Germans, opposed the attempts of Germany: the possible of further conquering Poland, as happened to Slavs from the Lusatia regions. Chrobry's coronation allowed the Polish state to be and survive. We be as a subject due to him. It does not substance that from the position of today, our statehood was built on a uniform foundation or Christian religion. It is besides worth noting that the king's insight is evidenced by the fact, as the editor well knows, that Chrobry had wanted to crown himself twenty-five years earlier, but as a consequence of the not entirely explained reasons, this crown went to Saint Stefan, King of Hungary and Chrobry only 25 years later. But it was obtained and Poland existed on the political map of Europe.

HS: Where precisely did the thought of a march come from?

KK: The thought of a march, from what I said, is rather clear, where it came from: the meaning of the character Chrobry. Furthermore, the King is besides an ambitious figure, leading a very bold policy, and this heritage of the Piasts was always present somewhere in Polish consciousness, an example of which can be very large celebrations from sixty years ago, celebrations of the Millennium of the Polish State. Today, however, whether by state or local authorities, there is absolutely no initiative. Therefore, as a patriotic community with the All-Polish Youth, we decided to go out and commemorate this event in specified a way as to express the conviction of the large importance of the coronation of Chrobry and its context.

HS: I see. The march is organised by the Bolesław Chrobry Social Committee. What precisely is this committee?

KK: The Social Committee of Bolesław Chrobry is simply a broad agreement of organizations which, although on any issues, may disagree in their concern for the future of Poland and its Christian character and (I think that this is not an exaggeration) its greatness. The social Committee was besides to emphasise the bottom-up nature of these events. Let us remind, it is created by the Youth of All Poland, the Association of Christian Culture by the name of Piotr Skarga, Brotherhood of the Foreground, National Movement, Academic corp Acropolia Cracoviensis and Malopolska Bunt. The thought was to scope all Pole who identifies himself with the imagination of Poland, which Chrobry dreamed of and pursued. We did not want to strengthen divisions, particularities on the political stage. The premise was to unite above these divisions on this Christian national pillar.

HS: What is your event going to look like?

KK: At 10 o'clock we meet at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 19 Copernicus Street, where a mass will be held in the intention of the Homeland. To begin with, we will mention to the Catholic aspect of the Chrobry government and emphasize this common root, the Catholic religion on which Chrobry wanted to build a unified Polish community. For us: nationalists, monarchs, traditionalists (...) this foundation is very crucial and unifying. This is the beginning. Then we begin the march from Matejka Square; at the Grunwald memorial we meet at 12 p.m. There will be commemorative speeches and singing the national anthem and then we will take the erstwhile royal road, i.e. Florianska Street, Main marketplace Square, Grodzka Street. Then we turn in Podzamcze and end up in Napoleon's large Army Square, where the second part of the commemorative speeches and the singing of Rota will take place. The demonstrations of historical reconstruction groups from the 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 19th centuries will be held smoothly after the singing of Rota, which is expected to emphasize any connectivity of all these Polish representatives will defend over the centuries. If it were not for Chrobry, we could surely not talk about specified a form of Polish identity. The march is to manifest, to show our conviction of the importance of this act, which was the coronation of Chrobry. There will be a picnic for families, the youngest ones, so that thanks to the reconstructors they can contact the past and realize this 1000 years of history, how it ran and changed over the centuries. On the another hand, the final point of the event will be addressed to those who want to research more thoroughly the aspect of Chrobry's coronation on various levels, a technological conference to be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel at 28 Krakowska Street. It will take off at 4:00, divided into 3 thematic panels. It will be divided into 3 thematic panels. The first panel will be opened by Father Tadeusz Guz. It will be a traditionalist panel treating the importance of coronation of Bolesław Chrobry from the position of traditionalists and from the theological, Catholic side. The another speakers in this panel are Sławomir Skiba from the Piotr Skarga Christian Culture Association and Piotr Doerre from the same association. The next panel will be a panel dealing with the monarchist perspective, and here will be Tomasz Goździk from the Monarchist-Reaction Union and Sergei Muszyński. The 3rd panel will be devoted to the tradition and importance of Chrobry's thought from the position of the national camp. Aleksander Kowaliński or vice president of the Mazovia National Movement, who will talk about the most crucial symbol of the national movement and the most crucial symbol of the royal Chrobry or sword, Szczerbek, will execute the papers. Next, Dr. Mateusz Kofin, a historian dealing with the national camp, will take the level to show how the thought of the Piask was presented in the National Democracy camp starting with Popławski. The 3rd will be my paper. I will effort to talk about how the thought of Chrobry was developed during the business and just after the war. We are working to make the conference live and the recordings are on the committee channel on youtube. A post-conference publication is besides foreseen.

HS: What does Chrobry's coronation mean to us, in modern Poland, Europe, the world?

KK: The coronation was already an highly courageous and courageous act. She was a evidence to independence, a courageous policy, to a very circumstantial purpose, which she was- let's not be afraid to say- large Poland and independent Poland. Especially today, erstwhile we truly don't have the problems Chrobry had to face, or our predecessors a 100 years ago, erstwhile we're in a good position and we're missing from the elite of political ambition, the desire to do more. For respective decades, people who control the state have adequate proverbial warm water in the tap. There is no political imagination in the Polish thought, any courageous concept that would let Poland not only to exist, but to accomplish greatness, which is essential in specified a place, a place between neo-imperial Russia and historically dangerous Russia on the 1 hand Germany does not lose independency or little pathetically sovereignty. It is impossible to be a meaningless country and a tiny one, we would then be preying on our neighbours and we would not be able to keep ourselves as an independent entity. Chrobry wanted Poland to be specified an entity. We want this too, so we call for showing that this ambition, courage, courage in Polish politics is lacking. That's what we want, that's what we want to say. We invitation you to Krakow on Saturday the 12th of April for a march.
