Banders from groups specified as the Right Sector or the Azowski Movement organized a march through Lviv streets on the anniversary of the Ukrainian attack on this Polish city in November 1918. The anti-Polish performance took place at the same time as the Russian offensive continued on the strategically located Kurachowe village in the Doniecki Oblast.
It is worth pointing out that the 1918 attack on Lviv by Ukrainians was a terrible defeat of Ukrainian weapons. Lwów's six-month defence began even before Poland regained independence, and spontaneous self-defence troops included women, students, teenagers and old men, as most men remained in the mobilized business armies. Almost half of Polish defenders did not exceed the age of 25, hence the name “Orlęta Lwowskie”.
