In the shadow of war

For more than a year now, reports of war in Ukraine have been the number 1 issue in the media. We can say that we are being bombarded by war information and speculation about possible scenarios for developments. Of course, the media message is not nonsubjective and credible, as it only presents the reasons for 1 of the parties to the conflict. There is 1 common narration that is threatening to be questioned with harsh consensences. At the same time, the Polish-Ukrainian alliance became an almost dogma, which as a live reminder of declarations of eternal Polish-Soviet relationship from the Polish-Soviet era.

At the same time, I have an irresistible impression that the ruling class of our country is very keen on abossing society with war. Thus many errors, omissions, and abuses of power can be concealed. There is no uncertainty that Buncho rhetoric and pushy pro-war propaganda is simply a kind of smokescreen in order to distract the public from the hard economical situation of our country, to which the inept and incompetent regulation of law and justice led. past knows many specified cases – for example, the Falkland Islands war can be recalled erstwhile the military junta ruling Argentina in the face of the economical crisis and the bankruptcy of its own governments decided to usage social sentiments (based on legitimate historical rations) for military action. Of course, the Falkland Islands war was operetta and cannot be compared to the conflict in Ukraine – but it is about showing the mechanisms of power itself.

It is besides clear that, as the main beneficiary of the war in Ukraine on a global scale is the United States, the main beneficiary of this conflict in Poland is Law and Justice. It should be recalled that prior to the outbreak of the war, the social support of the PiS steadily declined, while after 24 February 2022 this trend was stopped. This is the consequence of the sociology-known effect of the "unification around the flag" of expanding public support for the ruling parties in actual situations or artificially induced threats. Secondly, the situation in Ukraine has become an alibi for power – almost everything can be explained by war: inflation, drastic price increases, energy crisis or stagnation of the economy. I have the impression that if there was a drought or another natural disaster in Poland, any would besides see the Moscow plot.

War is besides utilized to restrict civilian rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution and another existing laws. An example of this is Article 54 of the Polish Constitution, which states that everyone is guaranteed the freedom to express their views and to get and disseminate information, and that preventive censorship of social communication and press licensing are prohibited. Unfortunately, this rule does not apply in practice, as is an example of blockages of illegal websites, including the “Polish Ministry”. akin actions, though in somewhat different spheres, were encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic apogee. At that time, too, civilian rights and freedoms were restricted in violation of the Constitution, and these actions were translated for the safety and welfare of citizens. It was in the name of the "higher necessity" that a number of absurd bans and warrants were introduced, including a celebrated ban on entry into parks and forests. Nevertheless, due to the paralysis of the wellness care department, thousands of patients with another diseases have lost their lives and were not given medical attention in time.

Unlike most of my friends, I am not consumed by current messages and reports related to the war in Ukraine. I am aware that the destiny of the war is elsewhere and we have no influence on it. Of course, this does not mean inactivity. Of course I agree with red. The Piasta Industry, that there are crucial and crucial matters, and the Ukrainian-Russian conflict belongs to the second category, given the threat of biological existence of the nation due to the danger of Poland being drawn into war. I agree that it is essential to argue pro-war communicative and support peace initiatives according to its capabilities. However, this should not obscure the interior problems associated with the systematically deteriorating economical situation of our country. We must not let the rulers to justify their own inability and incompetence, as well as their own abuse and violation of the law by external factors. In the shadow of war and large politics stay the problems of dramas of ordinary, grey people experiencing the benefits of "good change" and "Polish order".
