The Railway Protection defender (SOK) together with the Border defender (SG) detained a citizen of Burkina Faso who was illegally staying in Poland and tried to get to Germany. The event took place on the global train between Warsaw and Berlin.
Illegal stay revealed during inspection
Officers from SOK Station in Rzepin and Border defender Station in Świecka conducted a check on the train during which they identified 49-year-old Burkina Faso citizen. The man did not have any papers confirming the identity or the right to stay in Poland or to cross the border.
“At the time of the inspection, he did not have papers allowing him to stay legally in our country and to legally cross the border of the Republic of Poland with the national Republic of Germany” – emphasizes the defender for Railway Protection. After verification in SG systems, it was confirmed that the man had attempted to enter Germany illegally.
Further action in the hands of the Border Guard
The case was handed over to the Border defender Service in Świecka, which conducts further activities. This is another example of effective cooperation between services to combat illegal migration.
Increased activity of SG at the border
Recently, the Border defender has reported a number of akin incidents. A courier carrying 4 Afghans and 1 Pakistani, who were illegally staying in Poland and were planning to enter Germany, was detained in the territory of Warski. The vehicle besides found drugs – marijuana, mephedron and amphetamine.
In addition, attempts to cross the border utilizing falsified papers were revealed at the border crossing points in Korczowa and Malhowice. In both cases, the papers were secured and the persons interviewed.

The detention of a citizen of Burkina Faso is further evidence of the effectiveness of Polish services in the fight against illegal migration. The cooperation of Railway and Border defender Guards brings tangible results, expanding safety on global routes.
