"I do not completely agree with the European Commission's position"

- Commissioner, I disagree completely with the European Commission's position. I mean, there's no 2 wins on either side. There are those who benefit from this agreement, but there are besides social groups, socio-occupyncies that are very much lost on this agreement.

What's more, there is no consensus among associate States to support this agreement. France is against, my country, Poland, is against here too. The Polish government adopted a resolution on this matter. Above all, I ask that the European Union present the procedure for ratification of the Mercosur agreement.

When precisely will the European Commission submit to the Council a proposal to sign and conclude the agreement? We know that there is simply a full translation procedure and so on, but I would ask for an approximate date: will it be the first half of 2025, or will it be the second half of 2025?

I would besides ask if part of the agreement, which falls under the exclusive competence of the European Union, will be applied provisionally. This is very crucial information in the context of ratification.

In this part of the agreement, we read about the real minimalization of sanitary and phytosanitary controls. We read that customs clearance of consignments of goods perishable in the premises of the trader. In a word, agricultural goods may be allowed into the European Union without examination or after investigating at the entrepreneur's premises.

And now I wonder if all those services that control the quality of agri-food products imported into the Union will take all these equipment to check whether there are residues of pesticides or another prohibited products in the European Union.

We, of course, are discussing very much here how harmful this agreement for food safety of the European Union is, that European agriculture is exposed to unfair competition, but I would besides like to see the issue of consumer protection against imports of very uncertain and unexplained quality.
