The emotionally unstable talker of the Sejm Simon Hołownia has inactive not made a decision on Marcin Romanowski. erstwhile Deputy Minister of Justice and current PiS MP, Romanowski, has been stripped of his immunity, and the D.A. wants to charge him with 11 irregularities in the Justice Fund. The situation became more complicated erstwhile justice Agata Pomianowska of the territory Court for Warsaw-Mokotowa refused to arrest the politician on July 16 due to the immunity of the ZP RE. In time, however, we have confirmed our position that this justice should not presume a toga due to the fact that he does not have basic legal knowledge, as Romanowski did not defend the immunity which Pomianowska referred to during the crimes committed.

Immunity of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe – a tank of basic cognition of the justice Pomianowska

According to Marshal Holown, this requires crucial correspondence with the president of the ZP RE, Theodoros Rousopoulos. According to Holownia, the ZP RE will “preserve its area of competence very strongly”. Hołownia emphasizes that Poland does not want to be seen as violating the competence of the body to which it voluntarily joined, especially for political reasons. All actions must be governed by law.

Hołownia pointed out that the analysis of Romanowski's case would take respective weeks and that "the subject of withdrawing the delegation from Mr Romanowski does not be at the moment".

Accusations against Marcin Romanowski

Marcin Romanowski, a politician of Sovereign Poland and a associate of the PiS club who oversaw the Justice Fund from 2019 to 2023 as Deputy Head of MS, is suspected of setting competitions for funds from this fund. The charges against him amount to over PLN 112 million 126 thousand.

The D.A. seeks to apply to Romano's detention for 3 months. However, justice Agata Pomianowska of the territory Court for Warsaw-Mokotowa refused to arrest the politician on July 16 due to the immunity of the ZP RE. It is worth noting, however, that justice Agata Pomianowska, vice-president of the criminal department of the Mokotov court, had no paper to confirm the existence of Romanowski's immunity. It will besides be reasonable to point out that reading basic papers specified as the Statute of the Council of Europe and the General Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the Council of Europe indicates that Romanowski is not entitled to immunity at a time erstwhile he is not in the activities or on the way to the RE Assembly.

The prosecution complained about this decision, claiming that the re-examination of the law indicated that the scope of the immunity protection of Romanowski in the AP RE did not cover the alleged acts.

Church Fund: call for liquidation

At a press conference in Warsaw on Monday, Szymon Hołownia was asked about advancement in the work on the liquidation of the Church Fund. The Marshal of the Sejm expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace of the activities of the Interministerial Group on the Church Fund, stressing that they should go faster. The position of Holowna is clear: the Church Fund should be liquidated.

Hołownia pointed out that the liquidation of the Church Fund alone was not enough, and that an alternate had to be proposed. He recalled that most of the funds from the Church Fund go back to the strategy in the form of social safety for clergymen. According to him, the decision to allocate funds should belong to citizens who could transfer part of their taxation to a chosen church or a spiritual union, as they presently can transfer 1.5% of the taxation to NGOs.

Summary

Marcin Romanowski's case is complex and requires further legal analysis and correspondence with ZP RE. At the same time, the issue of the Church Fund and its liquidation is inactive valid, with emphasis on uncovering an effective alternative. The Hołownia emphasizes that any action must be taken on legal grounds, without prejudice to the competence of the global bodies to which Poland belongs.
