Slovakia will halt sending weapons and money to Ukraine, but will proceed to send humanitarian aid specified as food or medicines, and only to areas clearly affected by the war.
Budapest besides celebrates today, Viktor Orbán mostly supported Hungarian parties in Slovakia which failed but besides supported Roberta Fico and Slovak Social Democracy SMER-SDD (direction-SDD) due to the fact that he knew there was a large consensus between them. Orbán does not belong to the left. Fico did. But they're inactive great.
External interference attempts
Party Progressívne Slovensko (Progressive Slovakia) placed second. It's thanks to media marketing tricks and the U.S. embassy in Bratislava. full Western Liberals supported the legalization of 58 sexes, same-sex marriages, abolition of abortion restrictions, further support Ukraine and exerting large force on Russia, build US military bases in Slovakia, uncritically support Brussels policy, argue Hungarian policies, etc. SMER-SSD Ficy nevertheless won with Progressive Slovakia.
U.S. embassies in Bratislava and Prague tried to weaken and demolish SMER-SSD, lucklessly unsuccessfully. For example, a period before the elections in Slovakia there was a police conspiracy against SMER-SSD. Six days before the election, Progressive Slovakia mysteriously jumped SMER-SSD in the polls, which was a clear effort to manipulate the election. The evidence was the number of votes in correspondence elections from abroad. On election day, a free train was organised for Slovak students in the Czech Republic, who took them for free to Bratislava, where they could vote. Unfortunately, most young Slovaks supported Progressive Slovakia.
A Nonliberal Nation
However, it prevailed that Slovakia is mostly not a western liberal country. Slovaks are much more conservative, nationalist and Christian than the Czechs. In particular, national trends are strong among the mediate and older generations. Many Slovaks are just afraid of liberals.
59-year-old Robert Fico is truly a unique personality, a man of state in a European style, whom there are no longer so many in Europe. He is incredibly hardworking, has leftist views and is simply a patriot of Slovakia. At the end of the existence of Czechoslovakia, he joined the communist party, and then after the systemic collapse he moved to social democracy. His views are constant and unchanging.
Factors of success
Robert Ficy's success deserves designation and analysis. You can see that the left can gain a crucial triumph today. The main factors that favour SMER-SSD are:
1. A capable, charismatic and hardworking leader.
2. It's an interesting program that gets into social moods.
3. Good marketing to be able to sale the program well.
4. Professionalism in action, having a imagination of the future, and moving towards the goal.
In this way Robert Fico was successful in Slovakia. SMER-SSD is actually a leftist, conservative and patriotic party. It so rejects Western neoliberalism. There is even a Marxist wing around the MP Lubosh Blahywho, for example, cooperates with the Czech Communist, Josef Scale. SMER-SSD fought against the strongman, against liberal media, against American embassies in Bratislava and Prague. Finally, against the police conspiracy and against Brussels. And yet we did. It works erstwhile you can and want to.
Wide Coalition
The government of SMER-SSD, HLAS-SD (voice-SD) and Slovenská národná strana (Slovak National Party, SNS). Together they will have 79 seats erstwhile the parliamentary majority is 76 seats.
HLAS-SD is besides a social democracy, but closer to the political center. Their main motto is: "A strong country will aid people". HLAS-SD separated from SMER-SSD 3 years ago. The Slovak National organization is the oldest organization in Slovakia, which rejects western liberalism, preferring national, national and social themes.
