Anniversary of the attack on WTC towers in fresh York City and the Pentagon in Washington DC.
Today, in our calendar, we will look at the 2001 terrorist attacks that not only affected the US, but practically the full world, including Poland.
According to authoritative data, the attacks on the planet Trade Center were carried out by a group of 19 bombers associated with the al-Qaeda Muslim organization. They were from Saudi Arabia. The attack on the United States was to be a punishment for America's support for Israel, engagement in the Persian Gulf and American military presence in the mediate East. any of the terrorists lived in the United States for over a year and took flight lessons at American commercial flight schools; others arrived in the US just before the attacks.
On September 11, 2001, terrorists purchased tickets for 4 home aircraft flights. Their goal was to take over aircraft and direct them to strategical targets in the United States.
Around 8:45 p.m. on a bright Tuesday morning, a Boeing 767 line of American Airlines struck the northern wall of the planet Trade Center in fresh York City. The impact left a immense gap in the area of 80 floors of the tower (it had 110 floors). Hundreds of people died in 1 moment, and tens were trapped on the advanced floors. Everything was live on TV.
At first, it all seemed like a tragic accident. However, 18 minutes later the second plane hit the duplicate tower of the planet Trade Center. Another Boeing 767 United Airlines line appeared above fresh York City and, in a unusual maneuver, turned towards the WTC and cut the tower at a tallness of 60 stories. The collision caused a massive explosion. Burning debris fell on the surrounding buildings and down the street.
When the eyes of the full United States, and moments later besides of the world, were turned towards the burning towers of the planet Trade Center, another American Airlines aircraft (Boeing 757) orbited downtown Washington and struck the west wing of the Pentagon at 9:45 p.m. A large part of the building collapsed, everything went up in flames. 125 soldiers and civilians and 64 people were killed on board the hijacked aircraft.
At 10:00 p.m., the confederate planet Trade Center tower collapsed. The building's structural steel, built to withstand winds exceeding 250 kilometres per hr and a large fire, was incapable to withstand the tremendous heat produced by burning aircraft fuel. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in and around the planet Trade Center, including 343 firefighters and paramedics, and 60 police officers who participated in the evacuation of people trapped on the advanced floors of the skyscrapers. 10,000 people were injured.
Of all those inside the WTC at the time of the attack, only 6 people survived.
At the same time, the 4th aircraft, flying to California United Flight 93, was hijacked about 40 minutes after leaving Newark global Airport in fresh Jersey. The plane was delayed and it was then that passengers learned about the tragedy that was taking place in fresh York City and close the Pentagon. People understood that their plane had been hijacked and decided to prevent the tragedy by disposing of the kidnappers.
Passengers fought the kidnappers. It is unknown what happened on the plane, but it is suspected that respective passengers and a flight attendant attacked the cockpit with a fire extinguisher. Their actions resulted and the kidnappers were disabled. The aircraft failed to scope its destination – crashed in a field in western Pennsylvania at 10:10 p.m.
There were 45 people on board, all killed. It is believed that the bombers intended to attack the White House, Capitol or 1 of the atomic plants on the east coast. The heroic attitude of the passengers thwarted the bombing.
President George W. Bush gave a speech saying: “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our largest buildings, but they cannot contact the foundations of America. These attacks destruct steel, but they will not crush our American determination.” Bush besides announced retaliation, promising that all those who had anything to do with the attacks would endure consequences.
On October 7, 2001, the Americans launched Operation Enduring Freedom, entering Afghanistan armedly. The reason for the raid was, among others, the search for Osama bin Laden, a Taliban leader from Al-Qaeda. Osama bin Laden, Al-Qaeda leader, died on May 1, 2011, after years of hiding from American service. At the time of his death, he was in Pakistan. On March 20, 2003, the US and their allies, including Poland, attacked Iraq.
This time the reason was the alleged possession of biological weapons by the dictator there, which yet proved to be false information.
The September 11, 2001 bombing case led to the implementation of the ideology of securitisation worldwide. On the basis of fear of ubiquitous terrorists, in many countries, including Poland, safety regulations were gradually tightened and civilian rights reduced.
Therefore, to this day, there are theories online that the 9/11 attacks were a provocation to the U.S. secret services. The intent of hypothetical provocation was to explain for 2 military aggressions and the implementation of the aforementioned securitisationism.
At this point it is worth mentioning that the owner of WTC, ((Larry A. Silverstein)), on the day of the bombings he did not come to work, despite the fact that “he came to his office all day at the WTC and spent the full morning there at business meetings”, the authoritative version says that he had a planned survey that day. We have nothing to believe in but this ((case)).
But if we wanted to add a romanticist communicative to it, we would compose that ((Larry)) was miraculously saved so that in the future he could finance the Polin Museum (it is the alleged celebrated Contributor of this museum).
