Euro MP Afroditi Latinopoulou, leader of the Greek National Reason organization (Foni Logikis, FL) commented on the results of the German Bundestag election.
An alternate for Germany (AfD) achieved the best score in its history. winning over 150 tickets. The triumph was won by Chadecia, while the Social Democrats, leading the coalition led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, suffered a severe defeat. Nevertheless, the second 2 parties are presently trying to make the alleged large Coalition.
In consequence to these results, Latinopoulou expressed the belief that more and more Europeans see that governments based on socialist policies and ideas that “discuss Europe” cannot last much longer. She focused especially on the defeat of the SPD. In her opinion, the German Chancellor and his organization failed due to the fact that society wants to end illegal immigration, socialist economical models and a sense of social uncertainty.
"That's why they condemned Scholz. His organization was in 3rd place, he fell down and it deservedly" she added.
Commenting on the increase in support for AfD, Latinopoulou noted that the work for this situation was, in her opinion, borne by erstwhile German leaders, Angela Merkel and Olaf Scholz, whose policy had a key impact on the current state of affairs. According to her, “AfD parents” are Merkel and Scholz.
The talker of Reason stressed that although she is not satisfied with AfD's results, nor does she want to group her failure, she sees the process of "waking up" Europe. She added that Europe is moving towards suicide and that its countries request strong patriotic forces to reconstruct their lost identity.
“I am glad to see that citizens are starting to wake up. If I saw AfD at 3%, I wouldn't be happy. But erstwhile I see flashes of reason, I am glad," she noted.
Latinopoulou explained that patriotic parties in Europe mostly share a common vision:
“We want to end illegal immigration, the “woke” agenda, socialism and reconstruct safety to our countries. It unites us. Besides, of course there are differences," she said.
The Voice of Reason is simply a nationalist political organization founded in 2023 by Latinopoulou – a lawyer and erstwhile tennis player.
The organization initially functioned under the name Patrída but was excluded from the May 2023 parliamentary election by the Greek ultimate Court due to a dispute over the name and symbol of the organization of the same name, whose Latinopoulou had previously been a member. As a result, the organization changed its name and took part in the accelerated parliamentary elections in June 2023, winning 0.43% of the vote. In the elections to the European Parliament in 2024, she crossed the electoral threshold, reaching just over 3%, which allowed Afroditi Latinopoulou to win the mandate of a associate of the European Parliament. In July 2024 the organization joined the Patriotic Group for Europe in the European Parliament.
The Voice of Reason considers immigration as a priority, calling for strict border controls and strict criteria for granting asylum. The party's Manifesto opposes the granting of citizenship to illegal immigrants and besides stresses the deportation of persons residing in the country without the required documents. It proposes that agreements be concluded with culturally akin countries that respond to short-term labour demand. In addition, the organization proposes demographic solutions in the form of economical incentives to increase the number of children in Greek families, stressing the request to support multi-children families and rejecting immigration as a long-term solution to population decline.
Party leader, Afroditi Latinopoulou, adopted a clear stance against abortion, which is 1 of the key points of the program. With respect to LGBTQ+, the organization manifesto accepts the social presence of LGBTQ+ people, but powerfully opposes single-sex marriage, the right to adoption by single-sex couples, and the inclusion of progressive sex theories in education. The organization acknowledges the conventional household structures, based on binary sex roles, as the foundation of social stableness and the upbringing of children, arguing that they are consistent with natural order and social consensus. The party's manifesto opposes the extension of sex definitions and their introduction into schools, as a defence of conventional cultural values and standards. The organization besides supports the death penalty.
