In 1911 a liberal (sic!) government at the request of the Chancellor of the Treasury, David Lloyd George the UK has introduced compulsory social security. Scottish farmers protested as much as the amount of the fresh fee as they questioned the usefulness of the full strategy for people working in agriculture. Robert Paterson, host from Lendrum Farm, k. Turriff, Aberdeenshire refused to stamp his employees' insurance books, for which he was fined. The stubborn peasant paid the fine, but inactive did not want to pay the backlog.

The collectors were determined to recover, so they decided to take the Paterson-owned white dairy cattle of the breed, the hybrid breed Ayrshire-Shorthorn. On December 9, 1913, execution began in the police ace, despite the clearly negative attitude of the neighbors. However, it turned out that this ungulate motility cannot be disposed of, since all local farmers refused to join the bidding, and alternatively the cattle attached to the central Turriff Square was decorated with crowns with flowers and anti-government slogans. The IRS pushed for sale, and the crowd responded with riots, under the cover of which the anti-tax cow... managed to confuse the officers and escape. Hiding in the day and walking at night, she returned to her farm, but for the government becoming a substance of ministerial importance. The police and the British taxation office have set up a large roundup to capture non-taxable cattle. The mediocre cattle was kidnapped again, and since there were inactive no volunteers among the locals – it was resold further until Aberdeen. Now, however, both sides were determined to be on their own. The communicative of the brave cattle became loud for the full country, as a consequence of which the collection for the redemption of the animal from fiscal captivity began. The spontaneous action resulted in a spectacular success. Turra Coo She was redeemed. On the way through Turriff to the household farm, on 20 January 1914 it was accompanied by 3,000 farmers marching under the motto "Free! Divn’t ye want that ye were me” and to the second orchestra playing “See, the Conqu’ring Hero Comes! The march of triumph with “Judy MachabeusTrade.

Let the government be healthy – as far distant from us as possible!

Turra Coo returned to her barn, where she died naturally six years later, no longer anxious. Her case is inactive cited in all debates on expanding public tributes, not just in Scotland. Paterson’s attitude and others can be cited as an example of a misunderstanding of the benefits of compulsory insurance and another benefits, gradually introduced at that time in the labour markets of all Europe. The protesters' defenders point to the profoundly rooted in agricultural, and especially Scottish nature belief that the further any government stays distant from our affairs, money, and livestock – the better for all concerned.

The dispute remains, of course, pending, and its symbol is the main square of Turriff edina of its kind, the cow's taxation freedom monument:

At a junction in the bonnie toon

Iss a culture about the Beast

Faa brocht a fair bit about fame
