Yesterday's games, today's games

Due to Roman Giertych's somewhat amazing return to national politics in the lists of the left-liberal Civic Coalition, we callback the erstwhile views of the erstwhile leader of the All-Polish Youth and Polish household League.

All of the following quotes are derived from the book The Young Contrrevolution, published in 1994.

About women and marriage:

“Woman at home. This should be the nonsubjective of state policy and the treatment of social activists."

“A wife at home can make a real home for a man. All men miss home like this. Returning from work, a female is frequently tired and annoyed, so she is not always able to make the warmth needed for real household life. A man returning from work will besides be much better at treating a household that is simply a real home campfire. A better relation in a household where a parent works at home is due to the natural predispositions that men and women have been given. No talk of women's liberation, progress, etc. can deny facts."

“Marriage by its nature and by the power of an oath is inseparable. If individual wants to establish a broken-up relationship, why call him married?”

About Russia and Ukraine:

"It is now bordering 7 countries. Of these 7 3 are able to endanger us militarily: Russia, Germany and Ukraine. Out of these three, only Russia has no territorial objections to us. This fact alone indicates it. that we can only talk to Russia about a real and lasting alliance that guarantees our territorial integrity."

"Someone will say that the adoption of the concept of an alliance with Russia interferes with the sovereignty of Poland and our separate civilisation. I don't think so. The Russian-Polish Alliance has the large advantage that it would be beneficial for both parties. In this way Poland would gain military security, easy access to all natural materials, a immense market, opportunities for economical expansion based on Russia to Asian countries. Russia, on the another hand, would have obtained specified a much needed ally in Europe. This ally is very needed by Russia due to the fact that it has tremendous problems with Muslims and must face the threat of conflict with China. We are not threatened by civilization. Rather, she will draw from us spiritually and culturally, as has happened in history. I think that the imagination of the Polish-Russian alliance can be compared to the alliance in which the United States and the United Kingdom were for forty years.”

On the European Union:

"The second concept of Europe is the thought of a Europe united in everything. A united Europe that would be a immense state, a pier that would uniform all traditions. Europe without tradition, without Christianity, without morality, without homelands".

‘United States of Europe. The second concept is promoted mainly by cosmopolitan environments, having no sense of belonging to any Homeland. These environments, supported by American politicians, have found a large ally in Europe itself – a German state which in specified a United States of Europe would be the dominant economical element."

About the Church:

“Those who hatred God and the Church besides hatred Poland. A good example is the present and past attitude towards us in the demoliberal or Protestant circles. Those who hatred Poland, who fight first hit the Church.”

"The church has the right to measure the conduct of politicians. The Church besides has the right to condemn for immoral conduct of politics, for harmful action to society and for conflicting actions of state organs against God’s law.”

On reinforcements:

"It should be considered whether it would not be appropriate for Poland to have atomic weapons. 3 of our neighbors have specified weapons – Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. If you buy or manufacture atomic weapons. We could feel truly safe, due to the fact that no 1 will dare to attack a country with specified a retaliatory capacity."

"Polish arms manufacture should be maintained and developed so that military weapons are mainly Polish production. It is peculiarly crucial to make aviation, which is simply a fundamental weapon in today's combat arenas and in which we have good traditions. We must besides look for export opportunities for weapons, but only for those countries that warrant fair usage of them."

How many of the views that Roman Giertych preached almost 3 decades ago present – it is unknown. However, by observing his public activity, we can bet without hesitation that not much. In this context, the words of Giertych himself are amazingly present: “Our generation is hopeless. We are tired of the hypocrisy of politicians who keep talking about reforms without changing anything." The irony is that present they could service to describe himself.
