Germany strives to make the strongest conventional army in Europe," said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Bundestag.

"Strengthening the Bundeswehr is our top priority. In the future, the German Government will supply all the financial resources that the Bundeswehr needs to become the strongest conventional army in Europe," said Merz in his first government message to the German Parliament.
