The European Union expects the United States to shortly announce a simplification in its military presence in Europe – The German paper Handelsblatt reports.
"High-ranking European diplomats anticipate the United States to announce a simplification in their military presence in Europe in the coming months — although it is not yet known erstwhile and if so," the paper said.
Journalists note that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had previously tried to calm Europeans, saying that there are no signs at the minute that the United States would retreat their troops from Europe.
