Contrary to erstwhile announcements, Energy voucher for 2025 will not be launched. The Ministry of Climate and Environment confirmed that no fresh call for proposalsonly payments of late benefits from 2024 in municipalities that have not yet realized them.
This decision is surprising, especially since in 2024 the programme enjoyed large interest. Applications could be submitted from 1 August to 30 September 2024 and benefits were paid according to the number of persons in the household
- 600 zł for single-person holdings
- 800 zł for households 2-3 persons
- PLN 1000 for farms of 4-5 persons
- PLN 1200 for holdings of 6 or more persons
In addition, electrical heating farms could number on doubling of the benefit, which even meant PLN 2400 support.
The government is betting on freezing energy prices alternatively of direct support
Instead of continuing the energy voucher program, the government decided to extension of the freezing of electricity prices for 2025. The maximum electricity price has been set at 500 PLN/MWhto mitigate the effects of inflation and advanced electricity prices .
Although freezing prices can bring relief to many households, no direct financial support in the form of an energy voucher is controversial. In particular, this applies to those with low incomes who are most affected by the emergence in the cost of living.
