LONDON— Indian actress Urvashi Rautela has reported the theft of her luxury Christian Dior bag containing jewelry worth ₹70 lakhs from London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
The incident occurred after she arrived on an Emirates Airline (EK) flight from Mumbai (BOM), where she was traveling as a Platinum Emirates Member to attend Wimbledon 2025.
Rautela stated the bag was taken directly from the baggage belt despite her possession of the baggage tag and ticket. She shared her disappointment on social media and tagged Gatwick Airport, Emirates, and the Metropolitan Police, urging urgent action.

When confronted, Sharma denied any involvement. IndiGo issued a formal statement affirming that they are cooperating with authorities and treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

On March 28, 2025, during flight QR945 from Doha (DOH) to Singapore (SIN), a business class passenger left a phone in the lavatory shortly before landing. Moments later, the device disappeared. Tracking software later traced the phone to a crew hotel in Singapore, and eventually to the Philippines.
Qatar Airways’ internal investigation confirmed the theft and resulted in the termination of the crew member. However, the passenger criticized the airline’s handling of the situation.
Despite the confirmed incident, Qatar Airways allegedly downplayed the matter as “unattended personal belongings” and offered only SGD 949 (~£560), covering the device’s replacement cost, without addressing broader disruptions to the passenger’s business trip.
