Elon Musk announces the fresh political party: America Party

Elon Musk, billionaire and head of Tesla and SpaceX, one more time amazed the public. This time, however, it is not about a fresh model of an electrical car or a groundbreaking spaceflight. Musk has just announced the creation of a fresh political organization – America organization – which is expected to be an alternate to the US's dominant two-party system. The declaration appeared on his social platform X (formerly Twitter), only a fewer weeks after his loud conflict with Donald Trump.

Break with Trump and political declaration

Until recently, Musk was a close ally of Donald Trump. He supported him financially, accompanied him at election rallies, and served as head of the recently formed Department of Government Efficiency (Doge). Sam donated $250 million to Trump's run and frequently spoke in his favor. Everything changed in May erstwhile Musk resigned from office in the administration and then openly criticized Trump's economical programme's key points, in peculiar the fresh budget bill, which provides for gigantic expenses and taxation cuts.

It is this law, which Trump describes as his "great, beautiful bill", that was the point of inflammation. For Musko – a supporter of green technology and owner of Tesla – the deficiency of funds for energy transformation was a blow. The fresh law practically ignores the question of subsidies for electrical vehicles and another green energy-related products, which could impact Muska's revenues.

Trump didn't owe. In his post on fact Social, he wrote: "Elon may have received more grants than any man in history. Without that money he would gotta close the business and return to South Africa.” He besides threatened that Doge would start looking at the subsidies that Muska is receiving – not only Tesla, but besides SpaceX and Starlink, which supply services to the US government and European armed forces.

America organization – alternate or media maneuver?

On a wave of conflict with erstwhile ally Musk decided to go 1 step further. A fewer weeks ago, he ran an X survey asking users if they wanted a fresh political party. Result: 2 to 1 on ‘yes’. On Saturday, he wrote:

"You want a fresh party? You got her! erstwhile it comes to money and corruption, we live in a single-party system, not a democracy. America organization was created to regain your freedom.”

Sounds revolutionary, but reality is more complicated. For now, there is no evidence that the organization is officially registered with the national Election Commission. Musk besides did not announce who would take the lead – he himself cannot run for president of the United States due to the fact that he was born outside the United States, in South Africa.

So the question is: is this a real effort to change the political scene, or is it just another form of force on Trump and Democrats?

Tough road for a third-way party

The U.S. political past shows that breaking a fresh organization through the wall of Republicans and Democrats is almost impossible. There were attempts by the Libertarian Party, the Greens or the People's organization – no of them achieved crucial success at national level. The problem is not only the principles of run financing and the electorate system, but besides the profoundly rooted ideological divisions and media dominance of the 2 main camps.

However, Musk has what most alternate candidates lack: gigantic financial resources, a powerful media coverage and a loyal fan base – both in the US and worldwide. If he decides to take the America organization task seriously, he can at least force another parties to react.

The politics of the future or the individual vendetta?

Critics say Musk uses politics as a tool to defend his business interests. His companies depend on cooperation with the state – on government contracts for SpaceX to regulations on energy and transport. The public war against Trump and the effort to make their own organization may be a negotiating maneuver alternatively than an perfect commitment.

The Muska supporters, on the another hand, see an outsider who can "air" the strategy and bet on efficiency, innovation and cutting red tape. It is precisely specified slogans – freedom, independence, antisystemism – that attract the electorate dissatisfied with the present state of affairs. For now, America organization is just a message in social media, but if Musk decides to make it happen, it can lead to major shuffle in American politics. It is not yet known whether the organization will issue a candidate in the upcoming elections, or whether it will only be a platform for influence and force on another groups. 1 thing is certain – Musk does not intend to return to the function of passive observer. The conflict with Trump and the deficiency of support from Democrats made him decide to make his own way. Is this a step towards a fresh era of technology policy or a spectacular ego center game? Time will tell.
