On September 21, 2024, in Elbląg, for the ninth time, celebrations were organized for the creation of the National Armed Forces. The 82nd anniversary of the event was celebrated.
This year the celebrations gained a higher rank, as a nationwide event.
As part of the celebrations:
– 4th Patriotic Football Tournament Memory of NSZ Soldiers,
– Holy Mass,
– March of the memory of NSZ soldiers through the streets of Elbląska Starówka,
– The Memorial Appeal with the singing “Rota” at the end,
– Popular-scientific conference and patriotic performance by Norbert “Smoliński”.
At 9 a.m., a football tournament was started, which included the Sergeant Viktor Stryevsky "Cacko" team. Their bands were besides staged by Olympic fans Elbląg and Kashubian Patriots. The squad awards were prepared by ProPatriae.pl. This year's tournament winner was the Olympic Elbląg fan team.
At 1 p.m. the solemn Mass celebrated by Father Piotr Twardecki began.
The next point of the program was the March of Memory of NSZ Soldiers, on which the flagship of the Pomeranian territory of NSZ began. Participants chanted the slogans “National Armed Forces-NSZ”, “God Honor and Homeland” and many another patriotic slogans.
After the march, other the Cathedral of St Nicholas, the Appeal of Memory was read and sang “Rota”.
For respective years, an indispensable component of elbląg marches has been a painted patriotic car, depicting the 5 Vilnius AK Brigade on the 1 hand and the Świętokrzyska Brigade on the other. On the front of the car there is simply a figure of Sergeant Viktor Stryevsky "Cacko", whose boy is simply a regular associate in patriotic events, co-organizing, among others, the ft rally of the memory of Sergeant "Cacko".
A half-hour break – until the conference began, participants utilized for prepared refreshments and visiting a patriotic stand where patriotic ryngraphs and painting reproductions of the Elbląg artist Alicja Sikorska could be purchased.
At 15.00 Hymn and the NSZ Prayer the conference began. The host of the meeting, Gabriela Sikorska, welcomed all the guests of honor and listed the institutions that took the ceremony with their patronage.
The first talker was the president of the Board of the Main Military Union of NSZ Karol Wołek, who presented the thought of the National Armed Forces, dipping that the NSZ was the only major formation of the Polish underground state in which the Germans failed to install their agentship and which was not infiltrated by the German occupier.
Another talker was the Vice-President of the Fr Piotr Skarga Christian Culture Association, Sławomir Skiba, who presented a multimedia presentation entitled “Love of the Homeland and the perfect of a Christian Soldier”.
The letter was then read by Krzysztof Szymanski from Deputy talker of the Parliament of Krzysztof Bosak.
After the first part of the lectures, participants had a minute for coffee, tea and delicious cakes, baked by activists of the Elbląskie Patriots Association.
After the break, a second discussion panel began, in which historian Łukasz Suchanowski presented the subject – “National underground soldiers and artistic elites”.
He reminded that the NSZ members were as well-known artists as Maria Koterbska, Andrzej Konic and Bernard Szdasz.
Historian Jarosław Kłosowski, on the another hand, presented the past of the Pomeranian Union of NSZ Soldiers, which in many participants caused large emotion and memories from erstwhile years.
After another break, Norbert’s “Smolinski’s Light” performance began, which kidnapped the audience with its patriotic repertoire. At the end they performed Nicodemus Chmiel and Zofia Bork-Komorowska performing respective celebrated partisan songs on guitar and cross flute.
The organizers of the event were: Elbląski Patriots, NSZ-Pomorski Soldiers' Union, All-Polish Youth-Pomorski District.
The ceremony was held as part of the cooperation of the Patriotic Environment of Northern Poland, and was besides hosted by representatives of the Association of Captain Antoni Rymza “Max”, the Patriotic Aid Foundation, the planet Union of Soldiers AK-Koło Pomorskie, Kashubian Patriots, Patriotic Money.
The event was held by the Fr Piotr Skarga Christian Culture Association.
The event was besides sponsored by Deputy talker of the Parliament of Krzysztof Bosak, president of the IPN Karol Nawrocki, Bishop of the Polish Polish Army Wiesław Lechowicz and Museum of Cursed Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the Polish People's Republic.
